What aggravates me is the "Zaino Zealot" mentality and hype posts instead of factual, informative, critical, comparative reviews. the "this is the greatest stuff on earth posts" is neither informative or helpful for those looking for the correct product for their car.

I created Autopia as a place for people to learn about car detailing and to enjoy the company of other car enthusiasts. This place was not created to have wars over what's best or worst.
Corey Bit Spank said:Well, David, I won't show you any disrespect since I am a guest on your board and you have done quite a service bringing detailing to everybody (and there ARE quite a few members that I do respect very much that post on here, zaino users and lovers included), but I'm checking out before I dig myself a grave.![]()
DavidB said:Let's be sure to put things in perspective. Why do you like it? What does it do for you that is different or beneficial? What else have you used that you can compare it to? It's not about best and worst... it's about what works for YOU and WHY.
This community exists to share ideas and exchange information. It does not exist for people to prove they are right and others are wrong.
DavidB said:Corey,
It's quite alright to be critical of me and Autopia. I don't take critical comments as disrespect. In fact, many people who really care about this place take the time to write me and tell me what's wrong and how I'm screwing up. I have pretty thick skin (most of the time) and take it all in stride.

From 25 years working in the computer industry I have learned one very valuable lesson: No one ever stays on top forever. Those who continuously improve and develop have a better chance at having winning products. Those who remain hand-on with sales and marketing understand what their customers want. And that's why Zaino has a good following.

DavidB said:Ah, shoot... did I loose another PM? Let me go search!

The old Autopia was a lot more objective, and it was seldom that somebody said "THIS PRODUCT IS THE BEST" without saying "BUT...a, b, and c points could be improved." I have a hard time believing that Zaino or any other product is perfect, and it is sad to see that objective posting is giving way to fear of being called a "basher." Or to stay out of a thread because somebody will get their toes stepped on.
