My TV screen in the same room had about the same amount of dust on it. The filter in my central air did a better job of cleaning the air. I think your money is better spent on high quality, pleated AC filters that are replaced often.
The ionic filters do a good job of removing odors. No matter how stuffy, musty, or bad smelling a room is, the ionic filter gave it a "just rained" type smell.
