I know you got the porter job but did you try anywhere else. There has to be places that will at least start you off way more. Sorry to hear your situation, good luck with everything. I have to wonder though how some of you are able to take care of a family even going full-time detailing. Guess it depends on the area, there would be no way to afford living here just detailing.

I would honestly look into a few other things, there has to be a way for you to at least have better wages then that porter job is offering you. Maybe some type of sales job that's salaried and commissioned as well?
 
Chris..sorry to hear your venture did not pan out right away..But it will ..trust me.. your work is top class.. With your attitude ..you will get the break you need... you are a go getter and the bumpy road will soon turn into a smooth one...Do not give the new boss any more than what he wants...do the rag wash and wax and no more..If you go beyond that he will be getting a bargain..paying 7.50 ph for top notch work...

Keep your eyes and ears open for a better place to work..Family comes first and you need to provide...Just stay together and push forward..

As for your wife..I am very sorry to hear this...My GF had the same thing...she had the hysterectormy and treatments that was 14 years ago..all is fine today so I hope the same for your wife...She will be in my thoughts and prayers...

Remember ..Head High..walk proud and seek your goals..and take care of family..

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I have been off the net for a few days trying to get my head together.

For all that asked if I applied for other jobs, yea, I did. I was hired on the spot at this car lot. I wasn't going to turn down a job no matter what. Now if I get a call from another place that pays more, then I would take it.


I thought about the Detailing Gig quite a bit over the past few days. I will be trying to hit it 200% next week. I will be lining up a few free details over the weekend for a couple of guys I know. Of course, them being business owners, they know about half the town. LOL. Though, I will ask them to spread the word in return. (not that I give free details..LOL) I will be hitting businesses mainly. I think I wil hit a few Pizza places about placeing a small flyer on their boxes. I still have to work it out in between my job and family now, but I will succeed in this!
 
Thank you for the update. I commend you for what you are doing as it is very noble. It seems that your determination is second to none. Good luck with your details and all else in your life.

Necessity is the fuel for this rush!

If I didnt have the bills I have, I'd be working as a slug somewhere. But I need to attack from 7:30am till all heads are sleeping to sustain a "living".
