How would you remove these scratches on the metal?

find the cost on a new one at a dealer = time cost on restoring it? What the costomer wants the costomer gets, any after market for it? as for as I know chome there is cheap chome and there is good chome and good chome plating you can poish real good on the cheap chome its better to replace it
 
Have you tried anything by hand? Its hard to tell but it looks like some pretty rowdy scratches if nothing touches them by hand with say Mothers Billet or Flitz, you could break out the wool pad and pc and work it with that and a metal polish. Is there pitting or just surface scratches?
 
Door sills get the heck beat out of them. Only the finest scratches in metal can be gotten out by hand. Those look pretty good. I'd say look into a new one or just make them shine and leave it at that.
