How to 'restore' damaged MF towels?

Let's say the wife washed them with softener. What to do to clean them and get rid of the softener rests?



By the way, how to bring them to their 'like new' efficacy?
 
I wash mine alone using Woolite and dry alone without any softening products in either.



HEY CHEMISTS. Water in Houston is quite hard, so am considering adding Calgon water softener as well. Should it be added to the wash cycle, rinse cycle or both? Is it a precipitating agent or clumping agent? Where do the dissolved solids go?



Maybe I should be looking at a whole house system ...
 
Wash them a couple of times in HOT water and if they are man made fibers then dry in warm dryer.



If that doesn't work then relegate them to door jams and get new towels.
 
I agree with DF, I always wash mine in "hot" water.... I have found "hot" sometimes better alone, then cold with detergent.....Just be careful when drying, too hot and risk melting the poly if it should rub up against the heat outlet,........
