Back on topic. I really can't answer the question. I use mine so often I am used to the way it feels.
 
My PC has been terrible to my hands since

I bought it last year. Thinking maybe I will

just buy some M-Pact gloves. Hopefully

they will reduce some of the shockiness

I get when using the machine.

ROFL... looks just like how I do it. Only time I actually use the handle is if I'm really reaching to get over to a spot and have to stretch.
 
There is a slight difference between the 5" and 6" counterweights with my 6" pad set. Enough of a difference that it's a no brainer to change the counterweight.



But with the 4" pad set and 5" counterweight, the operation is even more smooth. Haven't tested it, but it seems like you have more power with the machine too because it would not bog down as quickly, making defect reduction more effective.
