How does NXT Stack Up

As Everyone know NXT was just released. Im curious (from those who have tried it), how does it stack up compared to Zaino, P21S and others like that?

Appearance wise, it is an excellent product and rates with the better waxes/sealants. However, since it is still a new product, long term testing needs to be done by the average user to truly be able to know exactly where NXT ranks.

My first impressions are that it is a first rate product.

My impressions from using it on several cars is that its a nice store bought product. Not revolutionary but an improvement on what Meguiar's has in their product line.

Not as reflective as Zaino and I don't imagine it will be as durable (time will tell). Initially slick but that falls off in time. Not as good cleaning ability as AIO. Mild swirl filling/removing, nice rich look, a good product for someone who wants something from their local parts store to use on their new or newish car.

So I guess right now its hard to classify. We'll know more in the next 90-180 days.

Brett,

I don't ever remember reading that NXT has any cleaning ability. Mike always described it as an LSP (last step product). I took this to mean that it is a pure sealant like SG or z2?

Can you point me to the thread where this info is conveyed??

If NXT is a cleaner, then I guess I won't be topping it over SG.

Thanks.

Bill,

I don't think Mike has said it has cleaning ability. I've discovered this on my own. Others have noticed it too and have posted their comments.

I'm not saying NXT is a cleaner wax type product. Only that it has some of that ability. NXT is not like Z2. Can't say how it compares to SG as its been years since I've used that product.

Interesting. Thanks for the info.

Then why did you even compare it's cleaning ability to AIO then? If NXT isn't designed (nor expected by it's users) to have cleaning ability like AIO, then why bring it up at all?

I think NXT should be compared to other (as Mike Phillips refers to it) last step products. I don't look for cleaning ability in any of them unless I am using a one step cleaner wax.

I do agree that while the initial impressions are mostly positive that it will probably be March or April before we can really know where NXT places compared to other sealants.

Because the original poster was looking for comparisons to other well known products. Just because its not sold as a cleaner wax type product doesn't mean it has no cleaning ability. Look at Blackfire, for example.

We need to look at products for what they really are, not what the mfr tells us or what its fans say it is. That's all I'm doing here. Trying to figure out what it really is.

I'm counting on you to bring no preconceived notions to the table! :D

('course I don't expect you to be superhuman, either....)

Yes, but I think he was looking for comparisons to other last step products, which AIO isn't. P21S and Zaino (at least in the function he seems to have meant) are not meant to clean the paint and he was using those products as an example to compare to.

Whatever cleaning ability NXT has is very minor and most likely a fuction of any carriers it has, like other liquid waxes and most sealants. It is a minor byproduct and not meant as an attribute.

I'm just saying comparisons should be as close to apples and apples as possible.

On my car I prefer the look of Nxt over Zaino or P21S. My metallics really pop with Nxt and yet I still have a nice gloss and shine. I've also had very good luck with protection. A few birds have made attempts to etch my paint with no success. So far so good.:up

Everyone needs to realize "your mileage will vary", only way to know for sure how it's going to perform is to find someone who has it or buy a bottle.
