Honda Black Roof Trim Help

My 2007 Accord sedan has black trim running down either side of the roof. I think the trim is Aluminum with some type of coating on it. This trim is terribly water spotted, and at this point it is etched badly. I have tried claying, and using scratch-x by hand, but still looks pretty bad.

Is anyone familiar with the Honda Trim? It seems to be a common problem, but I haven't found a solid answer other than having it painted to match the body color.

I was thinking I would use a dremel tool to polish them out? My guess is that it is too big to try and use a PC (which I haven't purchased yet)

Thanks for any insight

Can you tape it off and then polish. Sorry I'm not familiar with that particular trim. My Ody has the rubber stuff. For that matter, so do all my other Honda products.

Yea, My 08 accord uses black plastic for the area you are talking about. Either accords got cheaper or something is on it making you think its metal-ie ?

I am %99.99 it is metal of some type. I have tried polishing it with Plastic-x and Scratch-x, so if it was Plastic, I think I would have either removed the water spots, or destroyed the finish.
