Happy New Year folks, BMW 335i Z4///M, Dodge Ram SRT-10

Picus - Would you change your process if you had a Titanium Silver 335i come in? If so, what would you do? Thanks.

Great work. Any interior shots of the Ram?

Ah, no I didn't take any, sorry. I did clean it but forgot to snap some. It was grey with sort of grey-ish blue suede-esque inserts. Actually the interior was a little, I don't know, not befitting a 70k cad truck? But I guess it isn't about the interior anyway. :)

Heya. I got your pm and was about to reply but I will just put it here. If I had a TiAG 335i come in with very light swirling I would probably do this:

Wash, clay

PO106FF/white or black (whichever removed the marring and finished down right, probably the black) @ 1200-1400 rpm. Via PC I would go 106FF or FPII on a white pad @ speed 6.

Z2pro w/zfx x2 for coverage *or* Acrylic Jett Trigger... or both if I was feeling whacky. Either will look awesome.

I hope this helps!

Sorry to bother you, but I would be doing it by hand. If this changes anything, I would be happy if you could tell me if you would change anything! *Also, Z5 vs Z2 on a Titanium Silver paint, you would still go with the Z2? Thanks!

It's going to be hard to remove any marring by hand. I'd probably grab a tube of Meguiars ScratchX and try to get what I could (the more offensive marring). Since you're working by hand I might switch to Z5pro (I normally prefer Z2 on lighter colors). In this case though, Z5pro will fill some of the lighter marring you're not able to remove, which will be beneficial since you're not using a rotary or PC.

Cheers

Great job. You are one of the Autopian "greats".

Do you always use ONR for you washings? What do YOU do if the bottoms and well are caked with mud?

I've been blasting it off with my pressure washer and the going rinseless. I'm still saving water and time.......about 10 gallons and 30 minutes saved this way!!!
