So this is just what you *think* will happen? I've *actually used* them on dirty paint with ONR and no marring as a result. Don't know it til ya try it.:)
 
Even though I am not a huge fan of the GS, I will say that I most certainly did not notice any marring the few times that I used it on two very recently polished vehicles, including one that was extremely dirty after having been driven in the rain for a couple of days.

No after reading all of your posts and comments (plus the comments from others) I did purchase not one but three grout sponges from Home Depot.



What do you consider as marring? I have a black car and I see extremely light surface swirls in the paint maybe this is just due to normal washing.



Let me know because were going to get blasted here with 4-5 inches of snow.....so I can give the grout sponge another try.



Why do you like them better than a sheepskin Mitt? It would seem that the sheepskin mitt would allow the dirt to sink into the mitt and away from the paint.



Would a professional detailer use a grout sponge. Maybe you are a proffesional. Just looking for some unbiased input.

Did you start with a surface that had no marring before you washed with the GS? What soap are you using?



*IMO* (this applies to me) sheepskin mitts are low use and expensive. They don't rinse as clean as a GS either. No matter what I take my GS through I can get it clean(wet paint doesn't apply). I care for my own car with soft black paint and usually it's pretty daggon dirty when I do get to wash it.



Would a "pro" use one? Well, that's where I got it from.;)

Hi SpoiledMan:



It's new but you know dealerships they prepped it before I could stop them. So slight slight swirls. I can only gauge by how dense they're getting look after I wash the car. Do you use very light pressure with sponge and the squeeze it as wash the paint?



I'm using ONR for the winter



Mother's in the spring summer and Fall.
