Actually I thought that MotorCity's comment was rather humorous yet instructive. It was a gentle way of telling someone to do a little research. Also I have this fasination with the words grout sponge. It seems to be the passing fad right now.

Besides I have earned the right to go after blownvert (originator of the post) as payment for the counterweight that I sent to him. :dance Blownvert, how is that counterweight by the way?

Dang, glad everyone didn't read me the wrong way........ Honestly just trying to help bolwnvert out since I had noticed he started 3 consequetive threads

There is no way I would ever go after anyone on a forum, that's just weak.

You're OK. The sensistivy level is a bit high during this time of the year. No love lost!!!! (at least, I don't think so)

Man.... that did'nt do it either. What does it take to get the next page?

Im still not sold on the GS. Mine turned brown/black half-way through my ONR session. Afterwards it cleaned up pretty good with dawn and hot water tho.

you could just run inside and clean your GS or get a few if it being discolored worries you. did you have marring or something when it changed color?

mine gets darker but I just clean it up in the kitchen sink when I am done

you can buy a couple extras and put them under your knees for gardening use

:idea more uses for a GS thread ;)

My car was rather dirty, and a little agitation of water on the sponge in the wash bucket with my fingers kept the sponge pretty clean. Granted, I needed to wash the sponge later with Dawn and hot water to get it really clean, but it never got too dirty for me to be uncomfortable using it on the car.

But maybe your car was way dirtier than mine.

I use a grout sponge. I like it. They are cheap. They offer the feature of holding water so I can slowly dispense the water out while wiping the sponge across the paint. If one gets dirty or smeared with grease, I throw it away because it is cheap. I don't expect Home Depot to raise the price on them or stop carrying them.

blownvert isn't a newbie, btw. Registered in 05 and has >200 posts. I think that is long enough to know to use the search function.

GS floats in the wash bucket, dirt drops to the bottom, no need for grit guard - just rinse and go. Cheap and simple. Wanna see my collection of other stuff collecting dust?

The benefit of the GG is to keep the dirt particles from becoming mixed in with the wash water while the media is being agitated. Its partially trapped underneath. Of course the other benefit is being able to wipe the media on top of the grill to help assist in what gravity cant accomplish.

I still don't see a need for a grit guard, I rinse the sponge with the hose before agitating it in the bucket, what the hose doesn't get will float down anyway. Oh, I didn't mention that I blast the car with a hard stream of water first to get most dirt off to start with. If the car is real bad - it gets a power wash first. I do a few for folks that have red mud driveways.

Sorry if I offended you but I don't think it's a very hard thing to do. I just don't like negativity, I get enough of that at home, lol. Thanks for the education on the use of the word rant!

If your doing a lot of rinsing, maybe NRWS isnt appropriate for the task?

No offense, and no it's not "easy to do"...

As it has been stated, my comments were "gentle" and in no way intended to be negative... I am sorry that you get "enough of that at home" but don't take it out on me.

The OP hasn't seemed to have had a problem with the suggestion to search as a matter of fact I am sure it has served him well (I may be wrong).

funny note: In your definition of rant to simply "talk" or "verbalize" is to rant...

I'm done, have fun:thx

Let's talk about religion now! Just kidding. Hey I'm not mad and actually all of this dialoge is a waste of time, the "rant" I was referring to was the guy above you that told the moderator to delete the thread on page one. Believe it or not, it's not all about you, hehe.

My wife tells me that all the time! BTW not my definition it was a synonym list, I was trying to find a better way of saying what I meant by rant since you educated me on it's usage. Let's try to play nice since it's Christmas time. I'll say I'm sorry first. No hard feelings? Even to the other guy that I was posting to, its JMO, no reason to get... hmmm.... help me out with a word here....Dang! it I only had a dictionary or a life.....
