Well I've been screwing around all day with some new products I got yesterday from CMA....I want to get accustomed to the products and post questions about them........hence all the threads below this one!



Here is my line up:



Gold Class Wash

Mother Clay

Gold Class Wash Again

Meguiars Scratch X

Meguiars #3 Machine Polish

Meguiars #26 Paste Wax (Hand Applied)

Mother Showtime QD as a final step



The paint is in fairly good condition with some swirls but not many. Have I missed anything? The Scratch X and #3 will go on with my PC and a white pad...the #26 by hand.



Is it recommendable to apply several coats of #26? Or should I wait a few days before layering the wax?

You should get great results!

About the 26, with pure carnaubas it's usually best to let it cure for a week before adding another layer. This is true for all carnaubas, though.:D

Sounds OK to me except I'd skip the second GC wash. Whatever clay residue is left will certainly be removed by the Scratch X.



Since #26 is a mix of synthetic waxes and carnauba I think you can apply a second coat the next day. If you were using P21S or Pinnacle it might be better to let it cure for a couple days but I don't think that's necessary with #26. But feel free to experiment a little.
 
to at least a week between quotes to allow complete hardening. On my last test I waited 4 weeks between coats of P21S and was very impressed with the second coat. Will do a shorter one this time however since I had to (for shame) take the mud covered car to an automatic one to clean off the oily mud from Yellowstone. It just wouldn't come off with my hose, and the hard scrubbing I tried on a small corner convinced me that it would be worse than the automat.
