FK425 is awesome!

Then I would definately look at the sampler. You can all of that, and in small bottles (4oz) and can try them out. Its about 20 bucks after shipping.

I took somebody's advice and tried it on the screen of my laptop....it didn't look this good when I first bought it! Good stuff!

I confess - I haven't tried any FK products yet. My wife is thinking I have a "problem" and I'm trying to limit my future purchases to QD's, Sealers and Waxes. Even I think I have enough washes, compounds, polishes and tire dressings. I've tried most of Meg's, all WG, DG, XMT, a lot of OTC's and HiTemp, plus a slew of rebadged CG stuff I get locally. I was thinking 425, Pink Wax and maybe 2180?

You have a problem? Really? Just assess how many nail polishes, mascaras, lipsticks, eyeliners your wife has and when you have about triple/quadruple of that amount, well, that's the correct starting ratio. Compare the netto surface area of her nails/face/eyelids vs. your car and you'll make the same conclusion!

The sampler package is a great thing! My must haves: 425, 108, Pink, 2180, 1, 1000P and FX-100 (but it is not available at the moment). Some say that the wash'n wax soap is excellent too. The normal shampoo has awesome cleaning power.

Add in their manicures, pedicures, hair salon, and starbucks. Heh, it works.

I recently picked up FKP1000 wax and FK425. I also got samples bottles of 1119 paint decontaminator and 2180. Are these sample bottles enough to do an entire car?

Well do you normally cake on 4 oz. of product when you use an LSP?

Thanks Bence, but my wife has some pretty serious allergies and some medical issues that limits her make-up to a few select things, this was not the case when we met though! She does enjoy working with me detailing, she just can't understand the fun of trying new stuff when I have products that work fine. I will be getting some FK some soon, Christmas is only a month and a few weeks away.

1119 is the wash right? The sample is probably good for 2 washes. 2180 4 oz. is enough for at least 3 cars.

The 1119 is like a IPA Wipedown which needs to be diluted with water. It smells like strong chemicals.

Well, depends...

For me, 1 oz = 3 layers on a midsize car - or a bit more.

Thanks for the info guys. Bence I remember you said that it may take 2- 3 layers of 2180 since it absorbs into the paint. So it looks like I have more than enough with my sample. I just have to apply it thin with my PC.

Raza, from the 2180 you *may* need a bit more, but that still means that you can apply 2 full coats from 1 oz. - even when the paint is very "thirsty".

Isnt 425 basically a spray wax, as opposed to a QD. Doesnt seem to have much cleaning ability. On that n ote, anyone tried FK146? I nedd a QD that cleans as well, because I really only use them for touch ups (sling , bugs, fingerprints).

No, FK425 isn't a spray wax. Neither is 146. I tend to use 146 more often because of its cleaning ability. IMHO, both are great products. Glad to see FK products getting some good press again.
