Deep scratch guy.
Hurray, I just got it today via FedEx Home Delivery. Hopefully I can try it by this weekend.

No, that 4oz its just an sample. You request for any sample when you place an order from them.

are you planning on layering the 1000p on top of the 2180? Reason for using both?

I just recently ordered some 1000p and got some samples of 425 and fx1000, I'm going to be ordering a gallon of each shortly, would it be worth my while to order some 2180 as well? I currently have a TC-3/1000p combo on the truck now. Would adding 2180 to the mix do anything productive?

2x2180

1x1000P or maybe I top with another layer of InsuWax #845.

then maybe give shot of #425.

so from what I'm gathering 2180 would serve as a substitute to my TC-3. I think I'll hold off on ordering it until I have exhausted my TC supply. Or maybe just see if they will throw in a sample with my next order ;)

TC-3 is some very nice stuff. Easy to apply and take off, and leaves a nice gloss behind. Protection is pretty good as well.

Klnyc,

Don't throw away that sample bottle when the sample is finished.

Use it to apply 425 when you get more (that is if you like it).

The sprayer on the sample bottle is really good for laying down a

fine mist so you don't use as much, nor will you get smearing from

using too much product.

Maybe some here might know, or have an answer for me - thanks.

FMJ is one of my favorite sealants. Slick, easy to apply and very wet looking.

#2180 is much more sealant-ish looking, similar to NXT in application.

HGAS is super slick as well, but #425 is slicker still, and looks deeper.

My ideal combo here would be FMJ + #425.

Thank you for your reply. I was looking for Menzerna and/or FK users since You would understand what results/comparisions I was seeking. ~ Some members at our FX site are expressing interest in this also, thanks. from what I've been reading it sounds like a lot of people are jumping on #425 and maybe even using it with FMJ.

have you actually switched from FMJ+HGAS to FMJ+425? any pics of the switch? HGAS is smooth, but i also think that there is room for a deeper shine....

JoeJ, My plan for my daily driver is FK215 topped w/ 2180 x2 topped w/ 1000P x2 topped w/ pink wax.

LynchMob,

I just did a search for the 1000P paste wax and found this thread.

I noticed your plan, the 1000P x2 with pink wax on top.

I'm confused by that because both the 1000P and the pink wax are both waxes and the 1000P is listed as having a slightly greater shine than the Pink Wax so it seems you're deliberately adding a huge shine with the 1000P then muting it down a little with the pink wax on top.

Am I correct in my thinking or have I missed something?

Thanks for your help,

-John C.

John,

FK has a different perception regarding gloss ratings. What we call 'bright, reflective shine', they call it Gloss 10. What we call 'soft, warm glow', they call it Gloss 8. No real difference in shine; it is rather a difference in character (carnauba vs. synthetic). But of course, personal preferences count...

Bence knows alot more about FK products then I..... I am just going for durabilty on a non-garaged daily driver. If I can get 2 x 2180 and 2 x 1000P on it and then top with some PW every couple months I will be happy. Plus its silver paint Honda paint, just a shine.... not alot of depth.
