Finally got around to detailing the F40

it's a car not art, criminal to not drive it IMO.

there's a reason that Ferrari and other prestige marques make sure prospective owners of a limited run car drive em and don't keep them locked up in a garage.

So Ferrari makes people drive their cars? You're full of it, sorry. Ferrari just prefers to sell to previous Ferrari owners, not just any rich person. Anyways, with all the rich people with rare Ferraris that aren't driven much....well, does Ferrari revoke their cars?

Nice work !!

I have detailed two F40s and they both were single stage red paint. Where my two re-paints? Or was yours a re-paint? Or did Ferrari just has some of both?

See the pad we used on this F40.

Both F40's I've done were single stage. I believe the OP mentioned the one he did was too. :)

Wow! WOW!! :cooleek: I'm going to kill myself now! :grinno: But first, 3fiddyz, how does Mystery compare to Concorso in your opinion?

mystery smells nicer, chocalety

but i have to use both back to back on the same car to make a real comparo

The whole stable looks fantastic!

Don't drive it like you stole it. Warm it up first, then put the hammer down!

Very nice Ferrari and even a nicer of a collection!

What do you personally drive?

i have an E46 M3 convertible

see my sig for pics of all the cars - SL55 is missing, havent gotten around to detailing that yet

ANYONE saying that a car is not ART!

"YER A DAMNED FOOL!!"

Every single person who has worked on that car is probably "THE BEST" in their profession. You can take any profession in the world and the best at it consider themselves artists in what they do!

furthermore..... when you own one of the few cars in the world that only APPRECIATE year after year. Not driving it just shows the reason why you were able to buy it in the first place.... smart business sense.

3fiddyZ.... wow! great work on the detail... beautiful stable!

So do you get to drive these beautiful pieces?

And these supercars are not meant to be driven around town, they are made for performance. It is bad for them to be driven at one set (low) rpm. They are built to be run flat out. I would takem to a track and have fun but thats in my blood. My great uncle had a gullwing along with a few ferraris and he made the mistake just driving them in San Diego and LA. But he could say at the end of his ownership that he had a HELL of a lot of fun with them.

Enjoy them for the rest of your life and remember they are just cars and are not worth more then family by no means.

Such a shame on the car only have that little KM's on it though. If I pay that much for a car (or whole garage full of them) you better believe I'll be driving the crap out of them.

Especially with a Ferrari. With the maintenance checks suggested by the factory folks (miles/km or time) Ferrari owners usually drive it to the next check and don't t wait for time to elapse requiring the same check. I also agree with BBLover - you need to drive them like they were designed to be driven!!! Although I can understand with that stable that time goes by on some of those amazing machines.

Also, in my experience Ferrari paint is extremely thick single stage paint. You can buff the heck out of it.
