EDGE USERS: With what pad do you use what???

I still find difficulty in determining pad manufacturer with regard to cut & pad color.

In order to better organize some of this information, perhaps we can have a thread for Edge, Lake Country, Meguiars, etc.

Here are Lake Country pads: http://autopia.org/forum/machine-polishing/88031-lake-country-users-what-pad-do-you-use-what.html

Here are Meguiars pads: http://autopia.org/forum/machine-polishing/88143-meguiars-pad-users-what-pad-do-you-use-what.html

So here goes... Edge first:

For Edge users, what pad do you use most often with what product to solve a particular problem?

For example, I use the green Edge pad most often with OP or #83 and the rotary or PC.

I tend to finish up with a blue or white Edge pad and VM/RMG/PMG via PC.

I use the Edge white pad with the PC to apply LSP sometimes.

this site isnt big on organization :lol

Its almost impossible to answer any of those questions anyways. Every vehicle and every situation is different, it always changes.

I'm using 2 wool pads, yellow one and green one with Automagic line.

I didn't use other pads so I can't make a compare, but I find these pads very reliable and if you use them with care they will last for long time. I used my pads on 15 cars till now and they look almost like new.

I'm using wool pad with Automagic's New car glaza, or with BC-1, yellow pad also with new car glaze and the green pad with a finishing polish, namely BC-2. The LSP is applied by hand, Automagic's Awesome gloss.

Regards.

I like the green pad with OP and HTEC for defect removal. Even on my sister's Black Jetta (with HARD clear) that combo took care of the swirls and scratches and finished down nicely. I chased that with OP and a blue polishing pad. I run my machine at about 1500 for each of those steps. Sometimes, depending on my mood, I'll hit the car one last time with a white finishing pad and OP, but I usually skip to Poli Seal after the blue pad these days.

i think AG has a decent write up about each color pad might wanna check it out

Uh, unless you are talking about a forum discussion, their descriptions on their site for the pads are incorrect. There is a thread or two on here about that, and I even discussed that whole issue with Aaron from Edge....

Thank you both.

That's the type of content/discussion I was talking about. Just from experience....

95% of the time when I foam pad buff, I'm using Auto Magic's/EDGE yellow and then blue foam pads. I usually don't use them for removing defects, but for glazing and final finishing prior to LSP. I mostly don't need to stray outside of the those 2 levels of pads. Anything more than a yellow will constitute going to a wool pad and anything less than the yellow means the blue will take care of it. On some cars that need super duper mega ultra finishing I'll use blue and then white.

This is what I am "Trying" to get, what do you think?

The Edge WOOL Pads - Yellow and Blue, Single sided ! Where do you get at a reasonable price ???

I want to try these wool pads before I commit to a bigger order of wool/foam.

I have a "large" assortment of Lake Country foam pads that can/will be used on the rotary but gave my word on trying the Edge system on Rotary, so that is what I am going to do.

However I am not going to pay $20.00 per pad (2 sided) plus shipping!

Changeling

Changeling do you have any autobody supply shops around?

they probably can get you presta wool pads and there shouldn't be any shipping costs

presta=edge
