i am new to detailing and my pc and stuff is on the way in the mail now, i bought it mostly for my car but i have a truck to that i want to detail but it has single stage paint on it. Will using the LC pads on single stage paint ruin the pads? i have seen pics of paint transfer onto the pads and was wondering if it wrecks them or if i can still used them after on my car? i did order some kind of pad cleaner. do they work to remove the paint transfer?

It doesn't wreck the foam but sure will turn the pads the colour of the paint and make it damn hard to get it all out and return the pad to it's true colour

I have a ambswool pad that turned to blood red and could not get completely back to white

Thus it's only used on reds now.

I have some pads that have been used on SS paint and, as SVR said, while they are impossible to get back to their original color they perform just the same as when new. Just clean them as best you can as soon as your done using them and they'll be fine.

i just used my brand new foam pad on my single stage black and I can't get it to be as clean. It's okay as long as it works like new. A brush helps though.

Bret and I polished a SS red porsche last week. I used a edge green wool pad. Bret had brought down his system 2000 pad washer, I used it approx 10-12 times to keep the wool pad clean. Worked great! I will be ordering on the pad washers by the end of the month.

The pad washer cleaned all of Brets foam pads at least 95% clean after using them on the SS paint.
