I just ordered Klasse for my new 2002 F-150 truck that I ordered from the factory. Paint color is metallic Dark Highland Green clearcoat.Truck was made last week and hopefully I'll have it soon. The question is do I have to wait for the paint to cure or can I apply Klasse as soon as I get the truck. I have been told to do it A.S.A.P. and others say to wait 30 days. Help! Thanks guys

yeah, thats the question alright! I have had a couple cars painted before and I always wait about 4 weeks...but I have no idea why!! Thats just what they say!

congrats on the truck. sounds great. it should be fine to wax and all. i believe the factory cures the paint so it ought to be fine. i know i waxed my truck as soon as i got it, but it'd been on the lot for a little while. if i were you i'd go ahead and do it. someone else chime in here if i'm wrong.

Go ahead and protect it right away. By the time you take delivery it will be fine. Best of luck. :up

The paint is baked at the factory, it's fully cured upon delivery. You can wax or seal it the same day you pick it up, no need to wait. :up

As showroom said, at the factory paint goes through a "baking booth" I think its just liek a BIG oven and cures the paint on the spot rather than waiting for it to cure. If it wasnt most cars would look bed because alot of dealerships wax cars on delivery if they are going int he showrooms.

Yhea, Klasse it right away! The paint is baked on and even if it isn't by the time it gets to you it has had enough time to cure.

Now I've got a question. How do factories paint cars? I can't imagine each one is painted like paintshops do where they colorsand and use a buffer to get a high shine. Just seems like it would take to long.
