Hmm, I'm about to purchase some car washing agents for my car. My question is, are there washing agents out there that wor well and won't remove a car that has been waxed previously?



These are the products i'm interested in and any opinions/experiences/comments will be appreciated.

i use gold class like most here because of it lubricant properties and price. it really can't be beat.

but i also use p21s just to mix it up. it seems to be more gentle than most of the others (smells great too)

i've also a bottle of power wash and use it in the winter when conditions are harsh. it's stronger and i need that for the salt, dirt, slush, etc...

and none of the above have stripped my finish.

(AIO and SG with p21s wax sometimes)
 
Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo= Too much $$$ smells like sun tan lotion

P21S Bodywork Conditioning Shampoo= The most gentlest I have used,pleasant smell, leaves paint very smooth

Meguiar’s Gold Class Shampoo & Conditioner=Cheap and cleans well, carefull not to use too much soap because it will sud way too much but hate the cheap perfume smell

Meguiar’s No. 00 HI-TECH WASH= Good stuff, smells very strong(harsh) and good luck finding it locally only place i found it locally was NAPA auto parts.
 
EF Power Wash+: Wont strip wax, slippery, cheap by the gallon, no perfume smells. Gold Class: slippery, cheapest, perfume smells, available everywhere. Both are very good washes.
 
I buy the Professional Line of Meguiars washes by the gallon at local automotive paint supply stores. It is generally very easy to find.



Go to the Meguiars web site, and you can find shops that stock them in your area.
 
The Zymol Auto Wash is also a good choice that is sold at auto or department stores. Only 4.99. Leaves a great shine and smell nice.
 
Today, I did another detail for the same group of people that I have been doing work for lately. When I arrived the customer says to me "Do you think you will be done by 2:30pm?" I thought to myself, here we go again. I explained to the customer that the condition required more time to do the correction, but if she needed me to be done by that time, I would have to cut out a step, and the results would not be 100%. Another challenge to beat the clock. I originally wanted to do M105 and M205, but since I was under heavy time constraints, I decided to do M205 on a Hydrotech Cayan pad.

Wash: ONR w/ 2BM
Clay: Blackfire Poly Clay with ONR as lube and BF Clay Cleaner and Extender
Multiple IPA wipe downs
Wheel wells - Purple Power
Wheels - SCG Beyond Steel
Windows - Meg's D120

Paint Correction:
M205 on 5.5" H20 Cayan Pad using GG RO on speed 6

Exterior Trim dressed with 303 Aerospace Protectant
Tires dressed with 303 Aerospace Protectant
Wheel Wells dressed with 303

This job could have been better if I had the time to do it correctly, but given the time that I was given, I am extremely proud of this one. It has been a long couple of weeks, but I am happy to be busy.

Barry, you're really knocking 'em out lately! Amazing work, especially given the time constraints. Hopefully your busy streak continues into 2011 and beyond. :clap:

The customer actually was thrilled when she saw the results. I was almost embarrassed to turn it over without it being 100%, but she wanted to be out by 2:30. Considering the time frame, I was very happy with the results.

On this job, since time was such an issue, I didn't bother taping. Very often, if there isn't much trim around the pillars, I will just polish the windows as well. It does wonders on the windows.
I still have some things to learn, but every detail that I do, I gain more valuable experience, and learn something new on each job. Trust me, Dave could teach me plenty!!!!!!!! Are you listening Dave?.....lol

With the little amount of time you had to work with - wow - I have to say that you totally turned this black disaster around into a like-new just off the truck vehicle !

You are really getting into a great groove - I am so happy and proud of you and the awesome work you do !!!

I am glad to see that it looks like you found an indoor shop space to use - that really helps especially now in winter.

Dang Barry, very impressive.
Did you consider M105 on a polishing pad [like Tangerine]? I tried that on a one step and got great results, however I did not try 205 on a cyan, so I couldn't compare.

Nicely done once again!
