WATER FILTER DEIONIZER RESIN AND HOUSING - eBay (item 110604582769 end time Mar-27-11 11:18:08 PDT)

It says it contains 1 cu foot of resin. Also says that it has a 1/2' thread on the top and bottom. When it gets to my house Im going to see if I can get an adapter for a garden hose. If that works I only spend $105 for this. If using an adapter doesnt work and I need to go the filter route the twin 20" x 4.5" housings are around $125. So the max Im spending is $230. Not bad for a CR like system but with enough resin to exhaust the resin 3 times before I have to recharge.

Hope this helps someone out.

looks promising, you just need to attach in inline and outline. It seems as if you can replace the media. Does it come full of media too? If not the media will cost you about 150$ shipped for 1cuft.

Yeah, the media is included for $100 shipped.

You mean they will sell you 1cu/ft of media for 100$ shipped? I didn't see on the AD they would do this.

So the housing and media would run 205$ shipped?

GREG

The housing that is listed contains a cubic foot of resin. If I can rig that I will use that as the filter housing, if not, I will buy the twin 20" x 4.5" housings to hold the resin.

If you get 1cuft of resin with the container, shipped for 105 that is a great deal, the resin alone is that much if not more unshipped.

I wonder if it's mixed bed resin. At that price, I'd get a couple. Like Greg said, you can't buy it this cheap.

I just got the tank today. I didnt get a chance to play with it yet but heres what I see. The tank is just under 4' and the resin is about 3/4 full. The cap on top has (2) 1/2" openings. One has a 1" tube that goes to the bottom of the tank.

How do you tell if its mixed bed resin?

if its mixed bed it should be two colors of resin, if its been used it will stratify by color. I'm wondering if the medias been used, the price just seems too good.......let us know. Get a PPM meter on it and find out.

Cheers,

GREG

Good News/Bad News

Bad news is that I dont have a tds meter. Good news is the water IS spotless! I have one of those whole house housing with a 5 micron filter first and then the tank afterward. Still working on the connections because its leaking a little bit of water. Not a big deal at this point but want to keep the tank stationary and not have to move it right out the garage.

My PW is acting up so I just used the gilmour gun and then rinsed off. Took about 5 min to "wash" the car. This will be perfect during the spring with all the pollen.
