Car Outdoors 24/7 - Sealants are a must

Just wanna see if this looks about right. After a long hard day of polishing, and while looks & application of P21s may be great - temps on a black car can get extremely hot. Hot to a point that the caranuba is pretty much gone.



My car is outdoors 24/7 and while it's not a daily driver (everyday) it does see some form of driving every day. It just makes sense to use a sealant that will be able to withstand the heat. I've never tried Zaino but I do remember a day back in Autopia when Zaino and also #9 was the biggest buzz. So sealant is the route I'm choosing - Just gotta decided where I'm going to spend the $$ on (Zaino or Klasse).
 
I have never used Zaino but I use Klasse on my 96 Jeep that sits outside. I am impressed with Klasse's durability. I usually apply 4 or 5 layers of SG and detail about every 4 months.

I’d agree a sealant is more durable. Dependant upon vehicle colour (Klasse on silver or light coloured metallic) and preference (a ‘warm’ wax look or a silver ‘glow’ from a polymer)



I’ve found Zanio to be a good compromise between the two.

If you've got a dark colored car I'd definately use a sealant. If you have a lighter colored car and don't mind waxing every month then a carnuaba is fine. Dark colored paints get REALLY hot when they're sitting outside though, and Polymers deal with that far better than carnuaba.
 
Klasse Twins, UPP and SONUS for me. The L live in the driveway evenings and weekends, but I'm luck to have covered parking during the day. Temps and humidity in Houston are brutal from May through September, the rest of the time it is just hot. Like we say here - 2 seasons, summer and Julyaugust
 
Between the two, Klasse and Zaino, you can't really go wrong. Both are excellent products, and there is a very good reason why back in the heyday they were "rivals".



What I did to help me make a similar decision was to look at how they were applied and what their "system" entails. You may find that the regimen for applying Klasse suits your needs, or you may like the utility that ZFX gives Zaino application. Also look at what products you get and what you have to buy. Zaino does not have any Klasse AIO equivalent product, for example.

yo said you dont drive it daily, is a car cover out of the question. I dont know how effective they are with keeping exterior temps down, but they do miracles for the interior:up
 
I agree completely with your thinking, jsoto. Sealants are a lifesaver for those of us condemned to curbside parking. :( I use Zaino on the "show car" because (as others have pointed out) Zaino is most effective on a near-flawless paint. The white Jag fits that bill -- no swirls, scratches, etc. On the Benz, which I haven't yet been able to polish yet, its AIO/SG all the way, because AIO seems to help a bit to "mask" the paint defects. Some folks have reported that using Zaino on a car like my old Benz can be frustrating, because it seems to accentuate the paint defects.



Just some more food for thought ....
