I'd want a nav system if I were to buy a new car for sure.

What are the 2 slots for in the dash? CD?DVD?

One for CD's and one for the NAV DVD. :)

im not a fan of the sapphire black - metallic blacks just look dirty in my eyes, you cant beat a well prep'd and waxed solid black

what do you mean by trouble? is it very soft and scratches easily?

how do u like the ProLogic 7? ive ordered mine with it too, but will be swapping out the sub for my own running off its own amp, and rigging up the screen to play DVD/TV on the go. These factory systems seldom have a loud enough sub

interesting how countries vary in spec, our 335s come with nav, sport package, keyless entry, front/rear PDC etc all standard - but then we also pay alot more for our cars. Strangely the Msport suspension was an option i had to add on my convertible

I'm not a huge fan of metallic black either, which is why I went with SG. Yes, Jet black e92's have been giving some of us trouble, check this thread:

http://autopia.org/forum/click-brag/82627-2007-black-bmw-330-xi-worst-experience-so-far.html

Read all the way through. Thomas has detailed one jet black e92 and I've done two, all three had sinfully soft paint, some of the softest I've ever encountered. Other colors seem to be fairly normal.

I like the logic 7, it's not as good as a home system but for the money I think it is worth it.

Thanks guys. :)

And a nice one at that! I love the LGT; I was very close to buying one about 4 months ago. Exceptional car.

Mostly from guys posting on forums and stuff.

Yeah, I see the M Roadster you did on the Z4 forum I hang out on.

These cars look great, BMW really burned me on this one. I bought my E46 just before the E90 arrived, thinking all the new cars would look like crap; then they release the coupe. :) sorry to hear about Jet Black - it's the color I'd go for if I were buying an E92 as well. I think the flame-surfaced designs look best in darker colors. Your photos make them all look good, though.

As for Puckman - Puckman, jet black, don't do it man. Change to Black Sapphire or something; Jet Black is trouble with these e92s. :(

WOW - thanks guys. I don't know how I missed this thread. Probably from spreading myself too thin on too many forums and not catching some specific items!

Well, after reading through that one entirely I'm tremendously dissappointed to say the least. For 4 years I've had my heart set on a black car and I don't like the Black Saphire Mettallic as it looks grey to me in full sun. Oh well, back to the color combo drawing board. I have some time before my production starts.

:hairpull :wall

Piccus are US/CA cars built outside of Germany?

i just got confirmation from my dealer that my car will be built in Germany and have a ceramic clear coat

bit confused now as to why the paint was so soft for you

hmmm, didn't see a homepage in your profile, but I assume you were going to show me that you do a lot of cars. LOL Are you mobile or what? Just curious as to what kinda potential I could have. Not that having a BMW makes you rich, but ya, detailing is one of the options I want to look into for a career, but I'm kinda money hungry. LOL

Can the OP please PM or just post the process and products (please include MF's used, waxes, sealants etc.) used on these cars? Would be GREATLY appreciated!!

All BMWs aside from the Z and X series are built in Germany (including all 3's), so yes all 328s/335s are built in Germany. Your dealer is wrong about the ceramic clear coat; it is a regular clear coat.

As for why the black paint was so soft, I don't know. It has been on two jet black e92's I've done and the one Thomas did in that post I linked. Is it all of them? I don't know, but three in a row seems weird. None of the other e92s I've worked on (monaco blue, alpine white, space grey, sparkling graphite, motego blue) have been as soft as the two jet blacks.

Optimum no rise, sheepskin mitts, dried with waffle weave mfs. I used opt no rinse as directed (many how tos on this site)

clay magic fine grade clay

106ff on a few spots, on a white lake country pad via PC.

Zaino Z5pro w/zfx two coats, both applied via a grey pad on a PC

Acrylic Jett Trigger applied with a microfiber.

Poorboys wheel sealant on the wheels

Z16pro on the tires

Poorboys trim restore on trim

303 on the interior, Z9/Z10 on seats.

What brand mfs? I don't know honestly. I have probably 600 microfibers, most of them are pakshak or detailedimage.com bought, but lord knows I can't keep track of all of them. :)

I'm mobile and I have a fixed location. My homepage is those words in my avatar, one word, with .com on the end. :)

Detailing isn't an easy way to get rich, and you're right, owning a 3 series certainly doesnt make you rich. My advice, go to school no matter what career choice you decide on. Cheers.

You seem like you are pretty experienced. How did they Z9/Z10 combo come out looking on the leather? Shiny at all? Would you reccomend it for NEW leather? Thanks!

I specifically recommend it for new leather. It isn't the greatest combo for re-hydrating leather, but it is absolutely fantastic for maintaining new leather. It does not leave any sheen at all, it just smells really good, and is very easy to use.

Cheers.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!

I am out of words.

Congrats because not many can do that to me.

The cars look lovely. No one can deny them as being nothing but absolute works of art.

BTW: that does not look it it's a digital camera. Looks professional. What camera?

It's a digital, Canon Rebel 300D (the older one), with a Tamrom 18-35 lens. Thanks, and cheers. :)
