Asking owners of vacant parking lots to use their lot?

Second new post in two days... hope I don't get yelled at, lol. I did search and I couldn't come up with anything. There are two gas stations that I can think of off the top of my head that are right near my house and at the corner of VERY major intersections. Both have been closed down for as long as I can remember. One is taken down totally and it's just an empty lot, the other still has the building and overhang up. (can you say perfect shade?!). I know there have to be places like this by you, and I was wondering if anyone has attempted to get in contact with these people and rent their lot for a few hours on a saturday afternoon or something?



If so... anyone know how I can find out who owns the property and how to get in contact with them? I thought out of several lots, I could probably get at least one to agree since they wouldn't have to do anything and the lots have been empty for so long anyway. I was thinking of explaining that I'm trying to get customers for my new business, and since they are business owners they would probably have respect for that and consider letting me do it for either a commission of new customers that i get that day, or a free complete detail, or something to that effect.



Any ideas?
 
You can get the street address and check out who owns it at the county court building. That information is free to the public.
 
It's worth a try but more than likely you will get turned down because of insurance liability. If you, one of your customers or you or one of your customers pulls out in front of someone and someone gets hurt the lot owner could be held liable.



I tried to find a location to have a detailing meet but met up with this issue everywhere I turned.

That's the first thing that popped in my mind as soon as I saw the thread title.



Your best bet is to see if gas stations can refer customer's to your company and cut them a commission for their efforts.
 
As long as you have your own insurance, I don't see an issue with them letting you rent the space.............Might be $$$ though....you have to make it worth their while, and I doubt a few hundred bucks is gonna cut it.
