Anyone have problems with the Cyclo's cord?

I've had my Cyclo just over a month and the cord is fried. I have to bend it around the handle to get it to work and then today, the ground plug detached and stuck in my extension cord.

I'd hate to send it back to replace a cord but I also don't want to crack it open and lose my warranty. Any suggestions?

Will it really void the warranty if you crack it open?

I have heard of people that use it professionally having problems wit the cord. Is your cord black? I have *heard* that the gray ones are more durable????

Could you cut the cord, splice a new section, then reattach?

Here is Cyclo's contact info, you can ask them what they suggest.

i routinely replace cords on all my tools, I prefer larger gauge, softer insulation, longer cords. 25 ft at the least. My dad was an electrician, well still is. Anywho, he started doing it to all his tools, and when ever he got me a power tool he bought me a replacement cord. Most tools i have replaced the cord before i have used them.

I look for 10-12 gauge wire, 25ft,3 wire, and soft supple cords, and strong safe male plugs.

You can always just go to a power tool service center..they will charge you but it shouldnt take more than an hour.........Also..from many years of doing this and with my other company in the construction field...my suggestion is....Never wrap you cord around the tool for storage!! This places undo stress on the cord where it enters the machine for the majority of the time. Roll the cord up and use velco or some of those plastic clamps sold at Homey D to hold on place.

Not to hijack your thread how have you liked the cyclo? I am considering it.

Other than the cord, I love it. Definitely more aggressive on harder paints than the PC. I do prefer the Propel pads over the Cyclo pads though.

Ric-I learned with the PC not to wrap the cord!
