I went to the local detailer to day to look for a job. But he had no openings. He saud there having a hard time getting customers. I am blaming it on the ecomny. I so want a detaler job anyone her from Iowa that needs help?

Sorry to hear that buddy. Has happened to all of us I'm sure. Definitely been in that situation a few times. Also, remember that winter is much slower than the rest of the seasons. Cheer up, you'll find work, I just know it!! ;)

Dirt is recession proof. If you have skills get out there and hustle your friends, family, neighboors, etc. This will help make ends meet and keep you in good practice if you decide to work for a shop later on. You may even decide that you like working for yourself and build your own detailing enterprise. Dirty cars are everywhere go get your hustle on my friend.

Wishing you the best of luck

Here's a bit of geekish trivia for you.
50 years ago today, Yuri Gagarin orbited the earth, and the space race began in earnest.
Seems hard to believe that it has been half a century since that day.
Great video!

When Russia launched Sputnik (I think 1959?) it beeped down at Earth. Hamm Radio Operators around the world picked up the beeps. At the time it seemed impossible.

I am a HUGE NASA/SPACE NERD. The fact that we where able to launch a man into space in 1961, then land on the moon in 1969 is amazing when you think about it and shows the true American spirit. The early space program and astronauts are HEROs IMO. It will be a sad day in the near future when we I watch the Shuttle launch from my house for the last time.

And when you consider they did most of their planetary/orbital calculations using slide rules, it's just amazing how smart we can be when we apply ourselves.

hahahaha, true enough. I'd rather depend on some smart people with slide rules than an Intel chip any day. I remember that first flight and how the American news media wet their pants because the Russkys were first into space. Then came Alan Shepard and we never looked back.
