24x12 and I'm Back

My thoughts pretty much echo every one else's; awesome work.

How do you like those two space heaters? I got one for Christmas that I use in my bedroom and it is a really high end unit (compared to what I was using before). The ones you have match your garage perfectly.

I love them They crank out enough heat to take it from 31 degrees in the garage to about the mid-50's in about 15-20 minutes. By the time it hits the mid-60's it's pretty hot in there and I set them to low. They look really good and they do happen to match nicely. They kind of remind me of speakers. ANyway, I couldn't be happier. I thought about doing a wall unit and some other stuff, but in the end price, looks, and getting nothing more than what I needed in terms of heat production won out. I wonder how they'll affect my electric bill :(

WOW! Im loving it man, and the lettering on the wall is just an incredible touch! Youve definitely given me inspiration for a shop set up! Thanks! ;)

Simply awesome. There's no amount of shiny paint that can compare to the sheer gloss of someone enjoying life. I'm thrilled for you and we've never even met. Not to mention your garage is really badass. If I think of it, next time I'm home on leave (Central PA), I'll gladly buy you and your fiancee a drink.

Thanks! Let me know if I could ever be of help in setting up shop. I've become a sort of specialist of the past few months. I've actually setup two other shops for other people since posting this.

Your words are greatly appreciated. That's the kind of comaraderie a board like this helps foster. We've never met, we're miles and miles apart, yet we affect and are affected by others. We lift each other up (unfortunately sometimes break each other down), but in the end...may we all get to meet up for a drink. :hifive:

**** im 6 miles away! and i never seen this garage?:nixweiss:nixweiss:nixweiss

Awesome job! I have the same cabinets and agree the quality control is pretty bad.

How do you find working in the garage? Looks to me like it's about the size like mine, but I can't work in mine - It's too cramped around the car :(

Yeah, I was kind wondering the same thing. How has actually working in that space turned out for you? As long as it stays as clean as it is it should be too bad, but we all know it doesnt stay that way for long! haha!

I would think keeping it clean would not be an issue - David has a lot of storage space in there, which is important. He is a detailer after all, surely likes his cars and his garage clean :)

David, can you open both doors of the car without bumping into your walls?

Here's a picture of the garage since I opened it to the public on January 2nd.

I took the picture today (5/15/09) after having finished a 4.5 hour detail.

All I did to clean up was sweep with a broom and take 1 load of MF's to the washing machine.

It's funny that you mention keeping things clean. The son of the owner of the car I detailed this morning pointed out our Rigid Vac and how we keep our tools as detailed as our cars. We all had a laugh. They're concrete guys so they keep their stuff "au-naturale" :chuckle:

What I have found over the past (almost) 6 months is that the length of the garage is nice but I wish it was about 3 feet wider. It is big enough for me to do everything I need to do, and when I need a bit more room I back out into the driveway and setup the Tailored canopy. I can't complain though, I've done some big vehicles in there all winter long including a 4 door Avalanche; but, once we generate the cash necesary we will start shopping for an offsite location that we can call all out own. That was in the plans all along anyway. I knew I'd be faced with certain restraints setting up here, but they did not outweigh the positives.

Just what I thought - nice and clean ;)

If you have some cash burning in your pocket I recommend the Bissell Garage Pro Vac - You mount it on the wall (so it's not in the way), it's very powerful and has a super long hose and lots of tools. I love it more than I thought I would. Makes cleaning a garage and a car a breeze and you don't have to move it like the shopvac from one side to the other ;)

I'd be interested to see what kind of canopy you set up outside - I'm thinking of getting something to setup on a temporary basis when polishing as my garage is too cramped to work in. It's only 10' wide - just enough to get out of the car when you park inside.

Man, that is all so very sweet. I know it was mentioned earlier, but as a guy that collects clocks and watches, I love that clock in your garage. I've got a carport that I'd love to enclose and do something similar, but I've got to many other irons in the fire right now. I hope things really work out for you.

Nice. I got the clock at TOL. I get a lot of compliments on it from my clients.:2thumbs:

I am a watch collector too. I have a few, but my prized timepiece now is the Bell & Ross BR-01.

I am eyeballing the new Oris TT3 Chrono Black. Maybe for the winter!:woohoo:
