Ok spent most of the day and evening detailing my wifes neglected car. Now this car is approaching 20 years old and still has the orignal paint. Which by the way is finally starting to fail in some areas. The driverside door has clear starting to come off. Needless to say this car has 20 years of scratches and scuffs and dents etc. So this is how the car turned out. Nowhere near perfect but I think for what it is it turned out pretty good.

Hahahah I knew someone would say something to me about that. By the way what is a good fast product for those wheel wells? It was late i did not finish until almost 9pm. Anyway i of course Washed, Clayed then used PB SSR1 with a LC orange pad followed by a white pad, Then Revive Polish, Followed by Brilliance Spray Glaze and then Butter Wax

I'll usually use AA or 2001 what ever may be one sale.
But I ran out, so I cut some BnB 1:1 and have been using that recently

Just spray some AA in there, and wipe it down after a few minutes.

Was SSR1 able to get out all the swirls?

Looks great!

Looks great. imo it's not a challenge when you make a new car look better as it is to take a 20 year old car like the one you posted and make it look Great!

Well like i said the car is almost 20 years old and does have some pretty good paint damage and some pretty deep scratches especially the trunk. The SSR1 did wonders for them and I had thought about trying the SSR2 but this was the first time using the SSR1 so i figured i would try it and see how they came out. The swirls were taken care of on the side panels and so where many of the scratches, but it could have used the SSR2 without a doubt as there are some pretty deep scratches in cewrtain areas.. I really like how the SSR1 works though it breaks down and almost disappears once you have worked it completely and i did use speed 6 on the PC.

The Civic is looking good. I think you made the right decision by sticking with just SSR1 on a 20 year old car with original paint. Gentle is best when working on an older car and to leave the paint on the car.

Wow, that Civic looks pretty good, esp with that age. If that car was in North Eastern part of the state, It wont never look like that. It'll rust like hell.
Hows the interior? Any engine shots?

Thanks for the compliments everyone.

The interior is in pretty good shape it does have a small rip in the driver seat where the seem is coming apart basically and a little faded. I will get some pictures of it later when wife gets home from work. Engine is dirty I haven't gotten to it and it had a bad oil leak for awhile that i finally located a few months back. The car has many many miles on it. Over 280k

Yeah i feel sorry for you folks back in the snow bound salt road States. Your cars do not last long and last even less when not taken care of. I have seen some horrible cars that are only a couple years old come out of the North Eastern states and the Aluminum under hood stuff is thrashed and pitted to hell and the cars undercarriages are a wreck from all the salt.

So i spent most of the day and evening working on the car yesterday. 2pm until about 9pm and what does the weather decide to do today. RAIN!

Ughhhh!!!
