Finally...the bumper and grill are painted...

YNOT

Poorboys Rules!
I installed this bumper back in May and figured I'd have it painted in a few weeks. Then, weekend after weekend we just had so much going that it never got done. I was sick of driving it in primer and all mismatched.

Finally got some time this weekend to get it all painted and installed. All done with DuPont Chromabase paint/clear.

I'll get some better pics soon. Still plan to re-paint the 'grey' portions out as this factory grey looks a bit rough. Gonna paint out the GMC emblem grey too. Then all that's left is to paint out the door/tailgate handles and get/paint a roll pan. At that point she'll be pretty much done other than some little things here and there.

So here are the pics after I got her installed and washed last night...

Big thanks to my dad for letting me use his garage and for his help in getting it all done.

Hope ya like it. Any comments are certainly welcome.

Do you have pictures of it before?

I have always loved the older style Chevy/GMC trucks (I call them box trucks), as well as the older F150's before the started to become more round. That is a REALLY sharp looking ride!

Sweet ride. I love the square body trucks. The new round ones are definitely not made like they use to be. I have a 1995 GMC Sonoma that still runs like its new. The new ones fail after a few years lol.

Thanks Garry...I still need to wet-sand and buff it. The dust is minimal and there's also minimal orange peel. One run on the side of the bumper too but other than that it'll slick up with very little work.

Just like any of your work, it looks good Tony. I really like the old school wheels on your truck but then again, I guess it's no secret, I'm pretty OLD school. ;)

Truck looks great. One of the things I like about chromabase is Ive never had color match issues with red. I've had problems with red using PPG.
