Who makes the best swirl remover?

I have been mostly using 3m ssr 39009 and for the tougher swirls I use 3m 05930 PI Trizact or 3m 39002 or #83 DACP. I also have Griots machine polish 1, 2 and 3. No matter what I use and even when finishing up with a finishing pad the surface seems to have a slight haze (on black) when I am done, you cannot tell in direct sunlight. Maybe it is just because I no longer have 10 coats of zaino on it anymore but I am looking for something that will give me a crystal clear finish when I am done buffing. I use both LC and Meguiars pads.

What does everbody here use?

I have been thinking about trying PB SSR 2.5 and PB SSR 1, thoughts

I have also been hearing about Menzerna and Einzett, what are the pros and cons of the products I mentioned?

I will be using them on a 02 Black Z06 and an 01 MB c320 mostly if that makes a difference, the vette seems to have super hard paint that is a b!tch to polish. Thanks.

Wow, 71 views and only 2 replies. :nixweiss Has anybody tried the 3M 5930 Trizact? I love it but don't hear much about it on any of the detailing forums.

The 3m PI III RC and MG are popular products here. They give nice results byPC or rotary :up

For swirl removal I am very partial to Poorboy's. I really like SSR 2.5 a lot and use SSR 1 as a polish regularly...it will also remove a lot of light swirls.

In my limited experience (I'm a hobbyist, not a pro), the Poorboy's products are not as good on sratches as they are on swirls...that being said they will make most scratches look a lot better. I guess it would be considered a scratch remover if it was better on scratches, :p

Menzerna or 3M PI-III RC and MG.

At the moment I am using mostly Menzerna but I have some PB's on order to try it out.

wil the PI III MG remove swirls? i wouldnt think so as it is only a glaze. i have a little bit, but dont know what its best used for. what other polishes is it comparable to?

It's rated about where Megs #80, SSR1 and 1Z mp are (#4). It will remove minor stuff, but for anything more noticeable you should use PI III RC first. Both are good products and compliment each other nicely.

It's named improperly. There are no fillers in this product.

Yeah, although IMO 1Z MP is quite a bit milder than the PI-III MG and the #80. I haven't tried the Triazact, but I felt it and it felt a bit abrasive compared to the MG.

The Griot's polishes were too mild for the paint on my C5, at least with the Griot's orange pad. They might be OK for removing the final haze though.

I suspect the Trizact is leaving some micromarring but I'm surprised that using stuff like the Griot's #3 on a finishing pad doesn't clear things up.

If it were mine I'd do the PI-III MG (pn 05937). Work the MG until it's basically gone. It should be nearly perfect after the MG and this process might take a while (as in, hours). Then use something very mild like the Griot's #3 or 1Z MP (Griot's if going with the Zaino, MP if going with wax). Or maybe try Menzerna FP for the final polishing.

SSR polishes are from PoorBoy's. SSR1 is very mild, SSR2.5 has some cut to it.

#80, #83, etc. are Meguiar's products.

PI-III stuff is the Perfect-It III line from 3M. The Rubbing Compound ("RC") is mild, its pn is 05933. The Machine Glaze ("MG") is a milder polish, its pn is 05937.

1Z stuff is from Einszett (german for "one 'Z'"), the Metallic Polish ("MP" is very mild). There are also Ultra Polish (strong) and Paint Polish ("PP") which is medium.

S100 is a wzx from the P21S line, and I'd put it over 1Z MP myself. Putting it over SSR1/PI-III MG will depend on the paint, some paints require something milder after the PI-III MG (but most don't).
