Which window treatment to get?

Since the weather will be changing, I know we are in for some heavy rain in the near future. I was wanting to put some type of treatment on my front windsheild. Right now im thinking about trying this product out CarPro FlyBy30 Windshield & Glass Coating Kit I will start by claying then I plan on getting these pads to really clean the paint before applying the CarPro product Griots Garage 6 Inch Glass Polishing Pads, Set of 3 I figure the CarPro compound for windows would work good with the pads CarPro Ceriglass Glass Polish 150 ml

All in all the prices are pretty good IMO, but im sure others can point out other options im missing. Right now I clean my windows with CG window cleaner. My Kia is new and with how clean I keep it I already dont have to use the wipers on the highway unless the rain is really coming down. The rain just flows right off my window very quickly, so im really excited to see what happens when I apply a true hydrophobic material to the window. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Also I think I might get the AMMO Tire regime, really love this guys videos and his products look pretty good. http://www.ammonyc.com/shop/ammo-wheel-regimen-kit/

RainX is a great OTC product that you can pick up quick.

I just use Spray and Gloss or QD+ while I dry and that has always kept my windows (and paint) beading great

I treated my windows with Pinnacle's line up and was very pleased. Once I went over 40mph I no longer needed to use my wipers in the rain.

Thanks for all the advice. I went ahead and got the pinnacle window treatment. Seemed like more bang for my buck, and since my window is still new I really just need to clean it and not polish it with a machin. I also got some PoorBoys World rim sealant to top off the AMMO tire regime I bought from ammonyc.com

I just used this today. Make sure you apply it very thin. It's the consistency on Rain X. If your applying it in cold temperatures, it takes very long to dry. A spray of water and a waffle weave towel helps a lot to remove any left over product if your working in the cold. Pinnacle glass sealant and the glass cleaner do work very well.

I checked out that Ammo website and products. It seems like they are charging a lot of $$$ for conventional products. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the advise. And ya, I can't deny is products aren't cheap. It's because he is the one designing the products. Not some lab across the country or over seas. The AMMO Plum is basically his version of iron, and they cost about the same. And his AMMO Mud is a water based tire and trim dressing that doesn't sling everywhere, it cost $20. Other stuff like his sealant and $24 brushing is a bit too much. He's mostly just a detailer who wanted to have a good product line to work with and he didn't like bits and prices of other products. So he researched and developed his own.

I exclusively the Pinnacle glass line after trying other products. Love it and don't see me changing any time in the foreseeable future.

Cleaning and polishing your windshield should be done prior to applying any coating. This approach is no different than with your cars finish prior to applying a sealant.

Like many here I enjoy trying and testing new products to see how easy or difficult they are to use and also gauge their effectiveness or durability.

Regarding glass treatments I've tried RainX, Pinnacle's new glass treatment, Gtechniq G1 Clear Vision Smart Glass, and Aquapel...While they all work, application for each is a little different but all go on easily and buff clear which is important.

Out of all the products listed above, Aquapel rises to the top as the best performer for durability. I apply it to my trucks windshield and get 5 to 6 months through a hard New England winter. Water, snow, and ice simply slide right off and at 30 or more miles per hour I've actually turned my wipers off because the beading is so effective....:bigups

I intend to perform a side by side test this summer and will post it here...:bigups
