Where to get a pressure washer?

Hey guys, I feel rather unprofessional using my client's hoses to wash or detail their vehicles. So I was considering purchasing a pressure washer...

Pressure Washing Buyers Guide @ Pressure Washers Direct - Power Washing Buyers Guide, Pressurewashing Buyers Guide, Powerwashing Buyers Guide, Pressure Washing Buying Guide, Power Washing Buying Guide

I'm trying to spend <$400 so I'm not expecting to get a high grade industrial, just something that can be easily stored/transported (with out a truck) and will help do the job. Any recommendations? What do you think of that link I posted?

For under $400 it maybe tough to get a commercial quality one with a triplex pump. For a little over $400 you can get a high quality Cam Spray Electric with a high quality triplex pump for $465 shipped to your door.

You can also check out home depot, Sam's, and COSTCO for decent pressure washers under $400. Good luck.

I think you'd be wasting your time buying a non-commercial grade electric power washer for detailing. 1000 psi is a hair better than a garden hose and isn't worth it. You need to step it up a few notches and buy something heavier duty for $1000 or more. It will pay of in the end. 1800 psi is perfect.

That seems like an even better deal. From the description looks like a very good buy for the money.

is it just me or is thing seem heavy?? it says its lightweight yet the specs show 55lbs??

Either way for 395$ im thinking of pulling the trigger :nixweiss

Will these pull from a tank or will u still need a pump?

you know you still need their hose to hook up to the pressure washer right...unless you have your own tank and pump setup....

ya exactly so are u planning on buying a tank of some kind?

I got mine, 1200psi Comet pump 120v Electric, from Princess Auto. $499 I believe it was, or $599...

This thing is gonna last 5-8 years before I need to rebuilt it, and another 20 years after that with rebuilds.

So even $1000 pressure washer is overkill for automotive uses.

You hope it will last that long? Maybe if you're washing a couple cars a week, but not if you doing high volumes of washing and it's running several hours a day. Depends what your needs are. Look at this Pressure Washer Selector Guide:

Dynamic Pressure Washer Selector

Keep in mind that you should look for something that comfortably produces 1500 psi with 2 gallons per minute for proper cleaning. That's basically what your quarter car wash output is (give or take).

I was hoping these would come with a pump and tank... how much more is that going to cost??

depends on the type of setup u want! u can get a tank and put it together yourself im sure and save some money..

maybe someone will chime in with some cheap alternatives?

I'm curious what you guys think of these two pressure washers and how I'd go about hooking a tank up to them?

Costco Limited Quantity Offer Kärcher 2500 PSI Gas Powered Pressure Washer and T350 Surface Cleaner

2200 PSI 2.2 GPM Gas Pressure Washer

Having expanded my business, I do see myself feeling a bit embarrassed asking to use my client's hose when I arrive at their homes (for both washes and details) so I won't even buy one of these if adding a tank is difficult/expensive.
