When Applying Wheel Sealant

do you use 1 or 2 coats of sealant? I'm going to be cleaning and sealing my daughter's wheels this weekend. For those of you who have used Poorboy's Wheel Sealant what process has worked best for you? Thank you all in advance. Rick

I would go with 2, but I used a single coat for good brake repelling for a coupla weeks, and easy to clean for a month.

I apply 2-3 coats. on the rear & front wheels this works fine,on the front wheels i still need to attack the brake dust aggressively when i wash my car. I found that spraying the wheels with 4 * UPPS helps big time. I spray the wheels and wipe down only the excess and let the remainder dry.

If I have time, I'll apply a second coat 24 hours after the first. Sort of like joe.p, whenever I wash the wheels I apply Mothers FX Spray Wax wet and then dry them. I find that even 2 coats of Wheel Sealant isn't all that slick until it gets topped with some FX.

I used PB's Wheel Sealant on my wheels last spring & they are still clean (at least on the outside, where I can see them ;) ). Now I just wash them with regular wash solution. :)
I cleaned them first w/PB's S & R - full strength, then hit them with AIO & then applied PB's Wheel Sealant, let dry & buffed them & repeated the last step twice - might seem "extreme" to some, but then that's why we're all here.

edit: I recall hearing that Wheel Sealant is better suited to the high temps of wheels than products that are just formulated for paint protection.

I agree with Norha on that. 3-4 times a year I'll take off the wheel clean them inside and out. and put one AIO(soon tobe replaced with SwP) and put 3 coats of wheel sealent on. I can't leave the tires off for more the 24 hours other wise i would. If i had two different set of wheel you be sure when they were off the car I would be putting a monthly coat on them I love the slickness of the sealent and It was my VERY first porboy's buy and I love it.

Two initial coats after polishing to ensure full and complete coverage. If you have the time another coat a few days later...

Has anyone tried spit shining with wheel sealant yet?
