What wheel cleaner to clean Matte painted wheels?

I have some matte painted wheels, and am having trouble washing off brake dust. I've never had issues using standard car wash soap if i wash my wheels often, but these wheels are being a pain.

Is there any wheel cleaning solution that is safe for the paint, but can get off all road grime and brake dust in a matte painted wheel?

You could try a diluted APC such as Meguiar's D103 at a 4:1 or even 5:1 ratio (if you want to be more conservative).

P21S gives great results (just look at the Pro Detail section) but it is pretty pricey stuff IMO and you can get a 128oz jug of D103 for under $20 and I have gone through A LOT and it hasn't failed me yet.

Hope this helps!

Once the wheels are clean a lot of people wax/seal them so cleaning is very easy. But once cleaned if maintained you should just need soap and water.

It really depends on the quality of the matte finish. Some wheels with a matte finish I wouldn't touch with anything but soap, water and a brush. Higher quality finishes a quality wheel cleaner should work.

OH MAN, this stuff works GREAT!!!!!!!!!! spray on...light scrub and my wheels are shiner and brighter than they were new. i have only used 1/4th of the bottle to clean all 4 wheels and they were so black from brake dust. the brake dust litteraly was melting off. eagle one didn't melt off the brake dust, and even with scrubbing the brake dust wasn't budging. i have found a new product. eagle one doesn't even compare, and at only 1 dollar more for the bottle eagle one doesn't even come close. with eagle one it required 2-3 cleanings and it still wasn't as clean as one cleaning with the meguiars.
