What spray wax would you use?

I've been very skeptical about spray waxes, but after reading a number of positive reviews about OCW I thought I would give it a try as part of my winter regime. Now I'm reading that there are other companies that have created one (DP, Jeff, etc.) with promising results. What spray wax would you use? Why?

OCW is much more user friendly than DP's Spray Sealant, apply and remove just like a QD. The DP product applies more like NXT Booster Spray. Spray, spread, let haze, wipe. You get the idea. Not hard to use, just not a total breeze like OCW.

Visually, OCW is more carnauba like, has a real deep glow while DP's has a more traditional sealant look. OCW is definitely a stand alone LSP, not 100% sure if the DP spray is meant as a stand alone or just a faster way to add layers over their traditionally applied Surface Shield.

I am looking forward to trying UPP's and Jeff's stuff. I'll go through the Acrylic Jett I have on hand before ordering the spray version but I'll probably get the Carnauba Jett much sooner.

What he said! :xyxthumbs

Scott, your post about AJ really got me interested about spray waxes. I checked out the Werkstatt site to get more info on AJ and found a whole host of other products that sounded interesting. I've never heard of this stuff and now I want to buy it all. I just finished putting AIO and SG on yesterday and really like it. I plan on putting another coat of SG then following it up with 16. I was hoping to use a spray wax later, but can't decide between OCW, AJ, and now CJ.

Also, if your more impressed with Prime over AIO then I can't wait to finish my bottle of AIO. Have you tried Prime on black?

I'm down w/Scottwax too.

I was never into Spray Waxes until OCW. I use it as a topper for my paste waxes. I'm sure alot of companies will try to get into this market space which is good cause competition usually benefits the consumer.

But so far for me there is nothing on the market yet like OCW.

OCW has worked pretty well for me, I like it over Adams BSG the best. Mother's FX Spray wax is a close second. I still believe that you should keep up a regular waxing routine, and use a spray wax to help keep it up in-between.

Ive really only tried two spray waxes, actually one is a traditional Polymer sealant, Four Star. The other being the much approved Optimum Spray Wax. I truly believe they have there own unique place in detailing, and its up to the individual to assess. Do they equal or provide what traditional paste waxes or sealants provide? Can they be used in lieu of those, or in conjunction?

Again, its another product thats been provided to detailers to determine a need for.....or, are they the answer we've been looking for?

If it provides benefit, is worth the labor of applying, and is cost effective.....then its a good product in my book. I for one, am a believer in those I have used.

The only spray wax I have used is Optimum of the three you mentioned and I think it would be very hard to do better. Additionally, it is great on all colors. Definitely going to try Carnauba Jett though.

I dropped my bottle of Prime (I got samples from eShine in glass bottles) before I used AJ on my own black car. I had to make due with AIO and Acrylic Jett (beta version, aka Shokar). Gives black a very clear, wet shine.

Meguiar's Quik Wax is a pretty good spray wax for its price. It won't give much durability but it gives the surface a nice touch up after washes.

Now, Eagle One WAUD is another story...spend your money elsewhere :)

What is OCW? I assume O is Optimum? The Decoder Ring does not have any Acronym for any Optimum products.

- sorry newb here

Optimum Car Wax.

I only have one spray "wax", and that's the NXT Booster Wax. I've used it once and it's stayed on the shelf since simply because it's no easier to use than regular NXT liquid. As far as I'm concerned a spray wax has to be a WOWO product otherwise there's no point in putting it in a spray bottle. The fact you have to let the NXT Booster Wax cure for 15 minutes before removal renderes it useless for me and it just takes up more space.

Like others have never been big on the whole spray waxes thing. But am now using OCW the maintain my own car after washing when it already had sealant/wax combos on it.

Optimum Car Wax is one of the products in my kit that stands out above most of my other products. So easy to use, looks great and lasts a fair while too. I've had comments about how I get my car looking so nice and yet spend so little time on it......of course I don't give away the OCW secret to the non-autopian.

I am reaching the end of mine and was wondering about Poorboy's QD+ and whether its anything like OCW, but can see a gallon order of OCW coming on !

BTW, I assume there are no problems with OCW over Collinite's 845 IW, my LSP on the car at the moment.....?

It got to be OCW. The easiest sealant wax I have used so far, simply WOWO and it gives the shine of a sealant and the look of a carnauba.

I have used OCW over #885 Collinite Paste Fleetwax with no problem.

I used to use NXT Booster Spray alot. After finding OCW the NXT is now gathering dust on my shelves.

For ease of use and the look it gives it can't be beat.

Where did you hear about Carnauba Jett? I havent seen anything on his website or in his newsletters.

Brand new...see here ...I don't even think he lists the new products on the index yet...there are several new ones once you get to the actual product listing.
