What Sealant do you like using on Metal

Metal Pieces like Chrome or even highly polished aluminum - what sealant do ya'll like using.

I'm sitting here with my Z2 and my bottle of ZFX....

The only Sealant I have used on my polished non clearcoated aluminum wheels is AIO and also AIO topped with SG. While it did cut down on the maintence, it left a somewhat haze / extra optical layer that made the *mirror high polished aluminum* a bit dull.

I assume every sealant will have some coloration to the product.

What products do ya'll like using ontop of metal. Chrome is much less maintence free as unclearcoated aluminum so what products work well for you on non clearcoated aluminum.

I like using Wenol red and blue on my shiny non-coated metals (chrome, stainless steel and aluminum). I use AIO/SG on clearcoated polished wheels.

I've found Zoopseal to be both a durable and non-yellowing polymer.

One of the inherent problems with polymer is that that cloud (yellow) especially if you 'layer' them (Zanio 30 + layers users etc. flame away)

Similar to Zoopseal, I want to find out more about POR15's Glisten PC:

You're the first Autopian I've heard that is using it - I've read many recommendations for this product but not one user.

The cost is $$ but if it does what is says, I'd be interested in buying this $$ metal sealant.

Love to hear more details on application, longevity, etc.

I've got this old dusty bottle of Luster Metal Sealant too.....pre Autopian days :D

I used it on my Chrome tips but that was eons ago.

I've used AIO + SG on my wheels. Although they are not chromed, they feel slick and shiny :xyxthumbs . I've also used it on the Short Air Intake (wich is polished alumminum). How long the protection will last? Only time will tell...

ZoopSealâ„¢ (Zoops Products Inc) is a three-part metal cleaning system that comprises: Zoopsealâ„¢ (parts A and B) Zoopsealâ„¢ Cleaner and Zoopsâ„¢ Final Seal

The Zoopsealâ„¢ Kit contains enough product to clean four wheels and the vehicles engine (75sq. ft.) Pre-polish surface to remove any scratches before applying as this product will seal in any existing surface defects. ZoopSealâ„¢

a) Pre-Application:

1. Pour the bottle Part âہ“Bâ€Â into the bottle marked Part âہ“Aâ€Â and shake to mix thoroughly, allow the mixed products to blend (1-3 hours)

2. If you donâ€â„¢t need to use all 4-onces of Zoopsealâ„¢, mix (exactly) ¾-ounces of part A to 1-ounce

of part B, and shake to mix thoroughly, allow the mixed products to blend

3. Mixed contents are highly flammable so keep away from any naked flames

b) Application Methodology

1. Use a 15:1 dilution Zoopsealâ„¢ cleaner / distilled water solution and clean surface with a 100% micro fibre towel, repeat as necessary to ensure surface is thoroughly clean.

2. Thoroughly dry area with a clean dry towel ensuring that there is no water left on the surface, uncured Zoopsealâ„¢ is not miscible

3. Spray a light mist of Zoopsealâ„¢ cleaner (8oz spray bottle included in kit) on the polished surface to a dry surface, wiping in one direction only until surface is covered. A transparent rainbow coloured film will appear this is normal, until product is dry (2-24 hours) to the touch

4. Remove residue with a clean dry cloth

c) Zoops Final Sealâ„¢

1. Apply a thin light coat (polished parts only) and buff to a shine (do not allow to dry completely before removing)

2. Do not apply Zoops Final Sealâ„¢ to non-polished surfaces; it is for use on polished surfaces only.

3.While Zoopsâ„¢ Final Seal is still wet start polishing off the product, using light back and forth one-directional motions until product is no longer visible and lustre appears.

4. If needed, Zoopsâ„¢ Final Seal can be applied multiple times to produce a deep shine

Maintenance- clean surfaces with car wash concentrate/water dry and buff surface with a clean, soft mico fibre towel

Durability- 6-8 months dependant upon environmental and driving conditions
