What is the best sealant

I use zymol cleaner wax now, and i want to use something that gives a better shine, but is a sealant. I am about to make a AG order, so tell me quick.

How is poorboys. Also, what is a good swirl remover?

Danase Paint Sealant is popular with my customers. For an excellent swirl remover try one of our Swirl Abolishers.

Speaking of sealants, does anyone know if sealants are better to use than carnaubas in very hot temperatures? Out here in the desert it gets too damn hot, and the sun is shining like 90% of the year. I would figure carnaubas would melt quickly and break apart probably in under a week in this kind of weather. What about sealants?

How about Zaino Z2?

I'm not one of those Zaino pushers, I wasn't impressed with Z5 on a metallic Honda Ridgeline, but Z2 came out great.

I actually wasn't overly impressed with Z-CS also, it was just "okay" it just didn't really seem to add any gloss, although if it lasts as long as they say then my opinion will change.

I have tried most sealants except for the new Ultima and I like Zaino Z-2Pro and Z-5Pro the best. Works especially well with ZPC to prep the surface.

The best bonus is that Z-8 is very slick so you get "like new" results on subsequent washes.

Sealants win out in very hot temperatures in the durablility category. Hands down.....

im not a sealent fan, however i have used a few

for duarbility my fav is duragloss 105

for looks my fav is either kalsse sealant (but is a pita to buff off) or wolfgang sealant

I could name 10 sealants used by members here. Problem is, some swear by there particular brand and then again, some will not like at all what the other guy swears by. Point is, you will have to try some things out and come to your own conclusion's on what fits your eyeball. Your opinion is all that matters.

I beg to differ. Collinite? I've had it on the wheels, and the durability is actually better than it is on the paint. Also, there is no proof that carnaubas will "melt" under the sun. I haven't read any posts documenting the fact that too much sun has severly impaired the durability of a carnauba.

Cleaning Fool is right. There are way too many choices. Zaino, Ultima, Jeff Werkstatt's, Duragloss 105, Meguiars.....

i would say that zaino z2 works good and looks good. but since your shopping on auto geek. you could try optimum poli seal. if you want something that i think is great you could try meguiars synthec polmyer sealant #21 or just they polymer sealant #20

Mike, I respectfully disagree. Although I have no "physical" documentation, I can certainly notice a rather large difference in the return customers who I have used Nubas on, vs synthetic sealants. One could possibly attribute this difference to, exposure to the elements. U.V. being the largest degradent, followed by heat, and detergents. Sun definetly plays a huge roll in Nubas durability.

Most of the marketing I have seen for synthetics, is aimed at informing the consumer of the "anti" agents or protective qualities used in making a synthetic. Even this forums owner uses this marketing in his Ultima line. And I can obviously trust his knowlege and experience. If it isnt the complete truth, I doubt he would risk his business on it.

That's because your wheels don't get as hot as the paint. I don't know where this myth comes from, wheels don't get that hot, unless you're driving at the track....Mike, you haven't been trailering your parent's cars off to the track, have you? Brake parts get hot, but you have to be driving to get the brakes hot, and driving causes airflow over the wheels. Yeah yeah yeah you can hot soak afterwards, but I've never felt a wheel too hot to touch, like I have on the body of a car sitting in the hot sun.

EDIT: And Patrick also makes a good point about the UV...the wheels get less UV exposure...anyway, I think those are the answers as to why your Collinite lasts longer on the wheels.

I've been using mostly Nubas my whole detailing career in Michigan, but since moving to Florida, I've been scratching my head wondering why their durability is terrible. THEY DON"T LAST!! I'm not wasting my my time applying LSP to anything unless it's a sealant now. Isn't there documentation stating what temp a Nuba will melt/evaporate/deminish out there? I've seen it somewhere?

I cant say what the best is though I do use Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant. I am waiting to try Duragloss 105 though.

One coat of my nuba of choice lasted the entire summer. The car was left outside the entire time, and included an 800 mile roadtrip with 5 days of 110 degree weather, not to mention the days it went over 100 at home.
