What is Cleaner Wax

Can someone tell me what cleaner wax is, what it does, which is a good one to get and how often can you use it?

(I tried doing a search but came up empty handed)

cleaner wax is basically self explanitory. It cleans the paint of your car, and removes any light oxidation that may be on it. the best time to use it is right after you wash and clay your car. In the past, i have used meguiar's cleaner wax, but there are different brands. Some are zymol etc. On this forum it seems a lot of ppl use the klasse AIO, which im still reading up on. They may have insight from that perspective. Good luck.

Its a light polish and wax in one.

My favorite has been Mother's cleaner wax. Goes on very easy, looks very nice, but it shares the same downfall all cleaner waxes do:they don't last long.

Its perfect if you want to put two steps into one and just do it more often (and if you use something thats as good as Mother's it only takes a few minutes).

What emobob said. :up Basically they're waxes with some light abrasives mixed in. Most, except for some of the professionally-geared cleaner waxes, are very gentle since they are sold to the average consumer. This means they still have to be gentle enough to use on finishes in good condition as well. Cleaner waxes are good choices for people who don't want to bother with going through 2 or more steps for the waxing process, but know they have to do it anyway. ;) They're good because non-enthusiasts' cars usually need at least a light polishing anyway.

The "cleaner" part of their name is a bit misleading though, since they should not be used to "clean" things...

Try a TITLE search for "cleaner wax" or waxes. I'm sure someone has asked this in the last few months. HTH
