What do I need to do to 'redo' scratch removal?

Poorboys Rules!
As most of you know, I recently buffed/waxed my Mariner. Well, I was looking at it the other night while gassin' it up and I found several nice scratches over the hood. I'm guessing they are from bugs/rocks/debris from all of the long highway miles I've put on it recently.

I want to break out the PC and go over the hood to see if I can get rid of the scratches, but since I just (less than 2 months ago) polished and waxed it, what do I need to do to prep it? Do I need to get rid of the wax first? If so, can I just wipe the hood down with a wax and grease remover? Or can I go with a swirl remover right over the wax?

I just want to be sure I'm using the right steps.

:thanks

You can go ahead and polish-- the polish is abrasive and will remove the wax while correcting the scratches. You could use a paint cleaner or iso-alcohol mix but it isn't necessary.
