What did you do detailing wise today?

Detailing Gnosis
In the spirit of the Kuhuna and seems to be a popular ongoing topic on AGO, I will start this thread here. This gives everyone something a chance to post.

Yesterday, I washed the wife's car with Optimum Car Wash, dried with the Master Blaster, and cleaned the jambs with CG speed wipe.

For today, I plan to add a spray wax (the BFWD is not sheeting as well on the sides), apply Ultima to the trim, clean the glass, and vacuum it out.

I also want to get the truck washed before it rains in the afternoon. It will sit in the garage for several days.

I also checked the tire pressures. They were down 2 psi due to the weather change.

Had to work all day yesterday so today will be bit busy. A maintenance wash + interior, 2 wash & wax and write up a lot of reviews I am delinquent on. (Warning given to Biggerest Kahuna contestants. ;) ) I'm guessing the star will be the new Pinnacle Liquid Souveran.

my truck wasn't in too bad of shape, so i gave it a good wipe down yesterday with my eimann fabrik clear pearl II and a follow up spray down with eimann fabrik high gloss acrylic shield. i hit it again this morning with an additional coat of the high gloss acrylic shield. i haven't seen any more eimann fabik supplies for awhile now, but they did make some some very good products that had some very advanced properties.

Friday I got off to a late start. Washed my Pathfinder using Sonax Soap and a Montana Boars Hair Brush on the extent able pole. AG just replaced the last pole that broke, stuck this one in the bucket and the tip slid right off the end of the pole - set it aside and got a broom handle pole. Later I fixed it with epoxy.

Of course while drying the car, it started to drizzle. So, I packed up some supplies and went to the coin op car wash for some shelter (other car was clean and in the garage). There I went over it again with CG Speed Wipe Anti Static Detailer. Then added another coat of Bilt Hamber Finis.

It rained again over night so I wiped the car down again with the new Pinnacle Waterless Wash With Carnuba the next day. Also, had some time to kill so I put a coat of Rim Wax on the wheels even they are OptiCoated - although I'm not sure the OC is still there.

Then Fed Ex came and brought me a box from Chemical Guys. I got some Mr Pink, Sticky Wheel Cleaner, 4" Self Centering Hex Logic Pads, and spray bottles. Later that day I came across someone selling new pots of BFMS and CG Pete's 53 and picked that up as well.

Yesterday I woke up at 5AM, drove a couple hundred miles, then 2-stepped and Opti-Coated a 328xi, checked into my room at 8:30PM. Today I'll be doing a few wash n wax type jobs on a CTS-V, 840ci, and X3 if time allows.

Last week I started a correction on a '68 911L in original paint, which will get finished next week.

Ok, worked yesterday till 8, off today! Will QD & vac the truck and wagon. Apply Klasse AIO to painted wheels on both.:rockon Maybe apply a 2nd coat of Klasse HGSG to the wagon or at least to the roof and hood. Track my shipment of BFRW!

Woke up at 5:30 am, soaked G37 in BF Waterless, wiped down and sprayed BF polymer spray.

DP Krystal for the windows. No time for tires.

We had a gathering for FCA Saturday afternoon.

Off today:)!

I washed my mom's car. It was a complete mess from tree sap and other dirt. Looked great but as soon as I put it back in her driveway it started getting sap on it again.

I ended up not washing the truck but I did apply a coat of Mothers Spray Wax to the wife's car, applied Ultima to the dark trim, vacuumed the inside, and cleaned the glass.I also vacuumed my car.

In the process, I noticed the line cord retainer to Metro (the plastic clamp that holds the line cord) was not holding the cable so I repaired that....at least for now. The clamp uses friction to hold so the clamp may be bad.

Today nothing but reading any new posts here on the forum. I actually did mine Friday after work. Since it is to cold now outside to wash, just above freezing here, I went to the car wash washed car and dried it inside since no one was waiting. Then went home and parked it in the garage and turned on the torpedo heater and warmed the garage up, carried in the wet towels and got the QD and more clean towels and went to town on the car. Cleaned the interior and glass. Since the TPMS showed the tires were low on all four corners I fired up the compressor and topped off the tires. Cleaned some of the dust from under the hood and trunk, got tired and went inside. The End!

I washed the cars yesterday so today I cleaned the interiors. Special attention to my leather seats.

I washed my wife's Elantra Limited and gave it a thorough vacuuming. The wheels and tires were cleaned and treated with Wolfgang and Pinnacle products and I must say they came out great. Once dry, the exterior received a complete wipe down using a spray car wax.

Products I used:

  • Duragloss #901
  • Wolfgang All Purpose Cleaner
  • Wolfgang Über Wheel Cleaner
  • Pinnacle Black Onyx Tire Dressing
  • Pinnacle Crystal Clear Glass Cleaner
  • Wolfgang Cockpit Trim Sealant
  • Duragloss Aquawax

after a week of SANDY the xterra was a bit dirty. saturday was too cold to even think of washing. sunday was much better. normal wash/detail and finished with a coat of BF polymer spray. so far the BF products seem to be working fine in protecting the finish.

and moved all my products to a heated basement in prep for the comming freezing temps. (put this off as long as i could).

I ended up washing a load of microfiber using Blackfire Microfiber Cleaner. It works nicely with just 2 rinses and no need for vinegar step.

It is currently around 40 F here but should be above 70 F.

The goal today is to do a bucket wash on the Dakota and possibly apply a coat of Mothers Spray Wax.

Also, I will be shopping for a 35mm f 1,8 lens for the Nikon and looking at a Nikon 12-24 f4 zoom as well.

warm enough at 9am this morning to do wash /detail. calling for a nice weekend in PA. usuall wash finished with BF poloymer spray.
