Vibration with the 7336

I have read so much about the PC that after 2 years of using just Zaino by hand, I bit the bullet and bought a 7336 from Lowes (while on sale :) ) and the 6" backing plate and 7.5" pads from TOL and Menzerna IP and FP from CMA (also excited about the Menzerna Glaze and FMJ coming out). The thing is, I have used the PC on speed 3 and it is not too bad, not much vibration but when I turn it up to 5+ it vibrates to such an extent that after about 5 minutes my hands start going numb. My question is, is this normal? Is it that I am new to a ROB and I will get used to it eventually or maybe I just have wimpy hands? Curious about other first time users and their vibration level.

Some vibration is normal, but I notice excessive vibration when I use bigger pads - I really like the "power pads" from CMA, but do experience some extra vibration with them.

Also, make sure your pad is centered as best as possible on the machine, and make sure you've got the 6" counterweight.

I also have a 7336. I am using 6.5 inch Megs pads and the Megs Backing plate. I'm not having a problem with vibration even on speed 6. I have heard other people complain about vibration using the 7.5 inch pads even with a 6 inch counterweight.

I've got the 7336 with various backing plates+weights. Never felt any unusual vibration but have never run the machine on "6".

I'm currently using the exact same setup as you (7336 with Backing Plate and 7.5" pads from TOL). I have found that I feel less vibration and the PC is more managable if I remove the side handle and hold it by the polisher head instead. I read that tip in here somewhere, and definitely prefer the control I have and the vibration level. It seems like the plastic handle transmits more vibrations through to your hands. You could give that a try and see what you think.

Your combo sounds like it is a bit on the heavy side. Unfortunately, the high-speed vibration is normal. You have couple of options. One, you could switch to a lighter backing plate. Two, switch to a smaller pad. Or three, use the PC at slower speeds.

As was mentioned, be sure your plate is perfectly centered on the pad.

I too had found the vibration to be excessive when I first got the PC. FWIW, I only use speed 6. I stopped using the screw in handle, and just hold the head of the polisher, and the vibration seems to decrease. YMMV.
