Used the buffer on the floor today.

My once-pristine garage floor now has several years of pretty hard use under it's belt and badly needed a re-fresh. I tried soap and water. Nada. I powerwashed. Zilch. So I got out the Porter Cable buffer and polished the floor. It actually came out pretty decent. At least it makes me feel better. And the wife is pretty sure I have gone insane. :tongue2:

Actually the picture doesn't do it justice. It really brightened things up quite a bit. See dirty floor in background.

Wow. I use my old 10" buffer on the wood floors, actually does a nice job. Garage floor, that is a whole new league.

Before they went bye-bye for good, I used to use my old Waxmaster and Craftsman orbital for stuff like counters, bathtubs, umm even toilet tanks :o :chuckle:. Great way to use up demoted LSPs. I haven't gone to those kinds of lengths in years though.

I just finished sandind and polishing our resin counter top with the DA and 105 finsihed up with D151. Came out shinier than new. The mother in law noticed it before any one told her. That made the wife happy.



Next I plan on useing felt pads and diamond polish for the granite:madgrin:

All of this talk of detailing around the house just made me use some AIO on the shower door the other day. It seems to be doing a good job getting rid of hard water spots. I'm going to follow up with my DA.

You would be surprised how many car care products work so well around the house. I am always using degreasers, polishes, waxes, metal polish, quick detailer, leather cleaner, etc...
 
I seriously did this when I was assigned as CUB or "Clean Up B****" at the hanger in Shreveport, LA. They wanted the floors in our new state of the art hangar super fit for a visit by a four star general. I treated the linoleum to a thorough scrub followed by sealant and several coats of Miracle-Glo finished with a rotary buffer and Megs DACP. Woo-Hoo!!! I didn't think about the ramifications of such a thorough floor detail. Dammit if I didn't get "tasked" to be the man for distinguished visitors. It was nice when I was an NCO because I just trained the airmen to do it and then supervised! Great work!
