upholstery water spots

First, you must clean the seats thoroughly. The spots "rings" come from dirt embedded in the fabric that surround the spot you just cleaned.

Once you clean the seats, use a plush cotton towel and press it into the fabric over and over again in an attempt to soak up as much as the dirty solution as possible. Then....the key is to use bottled water to rinse the fabric. Don't use tap water which is full of minerals and other stuff that will be left behind when it dries. Then.....get a second plush towel and soak up as much of the rinse water as possible.

If these "rings" persist, the seats are still dirty. You will eventually get them to go away if you repeat the above.

Good luck!

Another option is to use a wet dry vacuum to suck up as much of the dirty water as possible. Sometimes I will spray the seats with water as I am sucking it up (similar to an extractor) to rinse them as much as possible. I also would not spot treat the seats, just clean the entire seat to even everything out. Ford seat fabric seems to be notorious for this spotting. I notice it the most on focus and escape seats where just plain water will leave stains and discoloration.

Keep an eye on the seats as they dry. Sometimes, the foam is holding on to the dirty water and it will wick back through as they dry.

Water Marks (Browning)

Clean and extract as normal. Follow with a sprayed mist of a 'souring agent' to prevent browning, colour bleed and those awful 'water marks'. Extract with plain water (no detergent).
