Upholstery / Carpet Cleaners

Beemerboy

Just One More Coat
I had two cans of Tuff Stuff Carpet cleaner laying around, so last weekend I decided to give it a try on some nasty mats.

It worked pretty good and that got me thinking about carpet cleaners, also upholstery cleaners

Anyone have a favorite they like?

My fav hands down is car brite xtra duty. Other than the short period that I had a vapor steamer, I've always used it with great results. A little trick is to use a vent brush and blow gun with it for all the interior panels. Its kind of messy and make windows even worse to clean but you can get into every crack and crevice with very little effort. Its also great for headliners and any other fabric.

I used to use Tuff Stuff until I started buying Steve's products, Since then I have not reached for anything other than PB APC. I have yet to find anything other than rust stains that it would not fully get rid of. Anyone here know what removes rust stains out of carpet?

Vent brush?

Do you get your air compressor and blow out the rugs then use the vac? What I have been doing is using a stiff brush to break up the nap then use the vac....the compressed air sounds interesting

The vent brush and air I use on interior panels and dash boards etc. For carpet I use an extactor but will sometimes use xtra duty as a presoak since its foam and will sit for a long time without drying up. The way I do interiors is say on a door panel - I spray the foam on the entire panel, take my vent brush and hit every tight spot, crack, speaker grill, etc. The I take the air gun and blow everything I brushed out. Then take a mf and wipe the panel down and its ready for dressing. This works very well on radios, vents, seat rails, weather seals, and anywhere else that's usually a pain to get clean. Plus it saves soooo much time. I can usually knock out an F150 interior in an hour.

I like the idea of the foam gun and brush method, I wish i could fit in an air compressor to my arsenal. I might get a really small one later. On the Carpets I use Meg. APC and a can of Spot Shot that I buy at Sams Club it's about $10 for 3 XLarge cans. The stuff is awesome as a spot treater. Plus it smells like a cologne, it's weird that it smells like that.

Funny how different folks can get polarized results using the same item. :) But I totally understand. I'm at that point now with a couple of products myself (i.e. everyone other than me seems to get results with it while I don't).
