Trashed GMC Jimmy *56K killer, lots of photos*

I had a customer call me and say they had a really trashed out 99 GMC Jimmy they were wanting to sell and wanted it cleaned up. It was their 3rd vehicle that he drove to his construction job site everyday, took it fishing, hunting and never took care of it!! When it came in I almost thought of saying nevermind but I had nothing to do yesterday. After I washed it so I could actually see what I was dealing with it was completetly covered in overspray. There was no shine to it or smooth feel at all. This did not come out perfect but I would say it was a great turnaround. The customer was going to pick it up at 5:30 but I had to call them to get a couple of extra hours.

Washed with Megs Gold Class

Clay Bar with Smooth Surface Clay Kit

1 step polished with Malco Rejuvenator

Megs M40 on all interior

Megs Super Degreaser on Wheels along with 0000 Steel wool and Chrome Polish

Megs Hyper Dressing

Megs Accent Coating for Weatherstripping

Tons and I mean tons of compressed air and vacumming

There were stains in the carpet but they were not too concerned with them. Some red juice on the carpet in the back, nothing was going to get it out so I just sprayed some Woolite 10:1 on them, brushed them and called it good. You can only polish a turd so much and you still have a turd!

The After shots. Keep in mind they were not expecting perfection.

It was definately a pain in the arse to work on. Once something was clean more dirt and dust would come out of crevices I didn't know existed!! I would have liked to have done some more on it but just wasn't paid enough to go to perfect on it. Some of these photos were before being completely done. the tires were dressed but not in all photos. The moldings look to have compound on them in the photos but they are actually starting to peel at the edges. Was short on time to get all the photos I wanted but had to get some on this beast!!

Looks100% better now, but the dressing on the interior plastic looks a bit too greasy for my taste..

I have the same opinion on the greasy look. The Megs M40 really cleans up the nasty stuff but does look greasy for a few hours. I had used APC to clean all the vinyl and then went over it with M40. I put it on minutes before the pics were taken.

i would have turned that down in a heart beat, or charged ALOT! Great turnover though!

The sad thing is I didn't get alot for it. I should have charged them double what I did but we are having a winter storm in Iowa with up to a foot of snow today and tomorrow. I had nothing scheduled for Thursday or Friday so it was this or sit there doing nothing. I have a 2009 Pilot coming in next week that is near flawless already so the 2 will average out!!
