Thinkin' about getting a Torqx for small areas, at that price point I could dedicate this polisher to a 3" backing plate and not have to swap backing plates. I have a Torq10FX, and a rotary. Has anyone run this little new machine?? I'm a newby that is learning from the Internet and all of you.

Haven't seen anything about the new Torqx. But if you can wait, I'm sure you can pick up a great open box deal on Autopia's EBay site:

There isn't anything listed for sale now, but I've seen tons of great deals on open box polishers that would be perfect for a dedicated 3" machine. If you need it soon, give the Autopia guys a call and see if they have anything sitting around.

I do something similar with my GG6 - mainly using with 3" & 4" pads - and keep the bigger pads on the RUPES twins and Griot's G21. Does speed things up.

Do you actually like the speed control on your Torq10FX?

Yes! I was thinking about a GG6 with the killer kit, for my skill level I was thinking about a GG15 when I can afford it, but I first want the Flex Pe8 so I have a small rotary too.

Do you actually like the speed control on your Torq10FX?

I do like it, if you're just learning it's a great way to understand the speed by sight & feel. The buttons I will most likely put bright paint on them so I can see them better can't always feel them.

I just looked at this machine on CG's site. It's a standard DA, not long throw. The ergonomics look odd from the video and pics. The speed dial is on top of the unit about dead center where your hand would go to hold the machine. I imagine it would be hard not to change speed constantly with arm motion unless there are clicks on the dial with some resistance. I haven't used one, maybe it's fine, but I'm just going off the pics and video. The price is about the same as a PC or GG6.

I heard the GG6 is loud ? I'd be possibly one handing it on bumpers and the on/off is above the cord which caught my eye, looks like a skinny PC.
