Scott's Mobile Detailing - Balboa Island, CA

Step 1) GET A REFUND FROM WHOEVER SOLD YOU THE CERTIFICATE!!! They are appearently not cleaning out cars but rather wallets and purses. We bought on TIPPR (vs. Living Social like others here). I really tried to give them the benefit of the doubt with their excuses and reschedules... until last week... they stood me up and have gone MIA for over one week so far. My calls and voicemails have not been answered and the only e-mail was a generic excuse - They offered to give me a full refund but I know they only get half of what I paid to TIPPR, but DON'T GIVE SCOTTSWAX YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO!!!

Step 2) POST YOUR REVIEW ONLINE (Yelp, scam sites, etc).

Step 3) PLEASE FILE WITH THE BBB - They take info on the phone or web and its easy. They contact the business and get back with you regardless.

I bought in San Diego but filed with the LA BBB last week.

Side note: I'm convinced that that the Scott that I spoke with in Dallas is a totally different guy who runs a legit, honest business.

LEGIT: Scott's Mobile Auto Detailing :: Home (singular, without an S after Scott)

Scott's Mobile AUTO Detailing (Dallas)

BOGUS: scottswax.com (plural, with an S after Scott)

Scott's Mobile Detailing (bad guys selling certificates in So Cal)

My service is today. They missed the appointment. No calls, no email, and they don't pick up their phone. Fraud business. Don't use them EVER!

I wish there was a way to give no stars....and I wish I had read the reviews before i rearranged my whole day to wait for these NO SHOW clowns....I was truly looking for a company to detail cars for the long term and these guys are so unprofessional.....

If I could go lower than 1 star, I would. Like most people have said, these guys are at best useless. At worst, a scam. Appointments take MONTHS to schedule, email (no call) sent out at very last minute that appointment needs to be pushed a week, then they don't show up when new appointment confirmed or return calls/emails. Really?? Will dispute with credit card. About 6-7 people I know bought these, and most have had same experience... the remainder, well there 'appointments' are still a month out!

BTW, 'Geoff'.... we can smell a ringer review a mile away.

...and it goes on.

Guarantee that jerk knew exactly what he was doing when he picked a domain name 1 letter different than mine and a business name almost the same as mine. I've been getting calls from pissed off people in SoCal mad at me for not showing up-then I have to explain to them I am in Texas and am in no way associated with this jerk.

That's dirty! He's going out of his way to destroy your reputation and cut you client base. Have you ever had a problem with one of the local detailers? I'm guessing it's a detailer in your location, but he put the fake info in LA so no one in TX can actually prove it wrong. I'll go on that yelp page and let them know you're legit in TX.

...wow....lol congrats scott!!! haha you officially have zealous haters!!!! roflmao!!! I AM sorry though that they decided to be such petty dolts at such an inopportune time what, with the accident a little bit prior--but the fact that they're going to such lengths to gain off of you says something lol =] Texas Detailing Kingpin title has been officially super pwnt by the REAL ScottWax =]

still hope this motherless cesspool chokes on his own excrement but kudos on being that big =]

(btw you seeking legal action?)

Apparently he really is in the LA area, has a local number. I don't see how it can really hurt me since people here wouldn't be looking for me on yelp in LA. Just don't want people to google "scottwax" and find this jerk.

man that sounds tuff. like you said some one could google somthing like that and be turned away becasue of bad comments and reviews the other guy is getting. id be trying to do somthing to keep that from happining. good luck with this though.

Thats a problem when you use your name in a domain name. It's only because hes a jerk that it came up. If he had been a high quality guy...

I feel your pain tho.

You know, if Scottwax had been taken, I would have been smart enough to decide on another domain name that was different enough to not cause confusion. But then again, I'm not scum.

Scott sorry to hear that! That is definitely a low blow! Do you know if it's intentional or just another Scott doing horrible detailing work? That didn't sound right.. I meant another person named Scott, who does horrible detailing work, as opposed to the Scott who does great detailing work :).

This is why I want to trademark my logo/name asap so such things can be handled legally. In your case though, it might be tough either way as you have a name in your biz name. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I don't think he is actually trying to discredit me, his name is also Scott. I think he just stupidly used a domain and business name so similar to another detailer, not even sure if he knows who I am. That doesn't undo any potential damage I might suffer when someone googles "Scottwax" and finds all the bad reviews.

I think he knows who you are. Considering that he took Superior Shine's pictures and adopted a website address and business name similar to yours, I think he is exposed to detailing forums. He might even be a member here.

Maybe the mods/admins can help you tracking his IP. If you can track the IP of the person who created the scottswax website, the admins can search it through database of members and expose frauds like him.

I guess this moron will be out of business soon (if he even actually is) and may be facing some serious legal trouble. Ton of bad review on yelp LA now and whenever anyone calls me (still don't know how they miss my location and Dallas area code) I refer them to yelp and let them know everyone there has been requesting refunds and that they should do the same.

Ouch, what a pain to deal with Scott. I know that there are alot of mobile detailers with similar names in different cities. With the dozens of stores we have, there are people in each city with the same or similar names.

Love all the 1 star comments. He will not last long online....

:boom:

Wish there was a way to track him by ip, but they would be different. The IP's associate with his website would be from his hosting company, not his personal.

Sucks to see / hear of. In other news, I haven't been to your site in awhile and I must say it looks GREAT! I like the updates - very clean look.

These people who keep calling must be retarded to be calling an out of state area code thinking it's the same person.

Not to mention it has my location on my home and service request page.
