The Best Chamois/Drying Towel!

Another important step in looking after my new car is to select the best chamois/drying towel money can buy. coming from a non-drying backround, i thought i'd step it up a notch before i do damage to my baby. :bigups

Heres some of the meg's range locally available;

Meguiar's Water Magnet Drying Towel;

-waffle textured

Meguiar's Super Suede Drying Cloth;

-synthetic

Meguiar's Super Thick Natural Chamois;

-100% natural sheepskin leather

Meguiar's Microwipe Super-Glide Chamois;

-microfibre

Meguiar's Supreme Shine Microfibre Cloth;

-dual sided microfibre

Meguiar's Soft-Buff Synthetic Chamois;

-synthetic

Which out of these do u think is the best?

Also, is it worthwhile for me to import one and if so, which one?

I just picked up a Meguiars Water Magnet locally. Its not a bad towel for the money. Its not as big as a Pakshak Waffle Weave but it gets the job done.

I use a hydra blade to get the majority of the water off, then use the Meg's water magnet cloth to remove any remaining water. This way the towel doesn't soak up too much too quickly. The Meg's water magnet is alright, but once it's drenched, that's it. It's very hard to wring out. Try the Pakshak waffle weave instead.

I've used most of the Meguiar's products listed and lots of premium chamois and other microfiber towels. I consider the Meguiar's Water Magnet Drying Towel the best of them all. Very effective and leaves a streak free finish without any marring. :up :up :up

Have heard great things about the Megs water magnet but not tried one yet as I have a few Pakshak 25" x 36" Waffle Weave MF Towel I am really pleased with.

I like Meguiar's Water Magnet Drying Towel as a first one gets water of the car and than Waffle-Weave Drying Towel 25"x36", grey one, from Microfiber Tech always work as a charm.

Microfiber Glass Towel 16"x16" works nice as a drying towel after Pexus polish applied on tinted windows. Elite Microfiber Towel 16"x16" are nice for wipe off too.

:)

I have only had experience with the Meguiar's Microwipe Super-Glide Chamois. Like most chamois it is very 'grabby', if I had to choose one from the list it would be the water magnet. I ended up importing some Pakshak waffle weaves they seem to be far superior to what I can get locally in Australia.

G'day there, the super-glide is so soft! i will check out the stores today (hope theyre open on sunday) to see if they have this magnet thing. i am still thinking of importing one, but there are so many out there i don't know which one is best. theres sonus der wunder, sonus ultimate drying, pakshak, excel monterey, big blue 2, the guzzler, pittards, prince of wales etc.

Whats best between all these?

My favorite method of and tools for drying are the "ABSORBER" followed by a nice fluffy terry towel. The ABSORBER, for those who don't know, is a synthetic chamois. Although I've heard great things about the MF waffle weave it feels like I'm wiping down the car with a handkerchief - too thin for my liking.

Just checked out the local auto store. no waffle weave in australia... surprise surprise. thats 2 down for the ozzies. :grrr

1-no porter cable 7424s

2-no optimum polish

2-no waffle weave

:down :down :down

so the best locally avail chamois is the meguiars super-glide?

also, i'd still like to hear more on what u lot think abt the previously mentioned products coz i might just end up importing a chamois/drying towel.

has anyone tried that maguires water magnet as well as pakshak's waffle weave and can comment on their performance?
