The Absorber

PA DETAILER

DETAILED TODAY?
any users out there?
been using one for years and it is amazing.
got a new one today.
guess they released a new one.
larger and texured.
great drying tool.

I have one but only use it for occasional blot drying. It sticks too much to the paint since I am concerned about marring. It would be unforgiving if it had dirt trapped.

I used an absorber occasionally for years and never had any complaints with it.
I did stop using it because of all the comments about possibly damaging the paint. Didn't have the problem, jus got cold feet.
You will probably get some very different opinions on them.
I still have a couple of them and I use them to wipe down the furniture in the pontoon boat to remove the morning dew/condensation. They really work great for that. The amount of water they can absorb is amazing.

I used to use them over the years, but with some of the newer type plush waffle weave drying towels that have emerged they have replaced absorber type brands. For me I feel safer on my paint having something that could trap dirt rather then let it sit on the surface.

I have used one for years. Still have a couple, one of which is still unopened.

Pros:
o Easy to maintain
o Durable
o Absorbs much more water than any WW MF, because they can be wrung almost dry, and continue to absorb far better than a damp WW MF.

1 Absorber + 1 MF towel = Great drying combo, especially for those larger vehicles.

I have been told that the Absorber strips your LSP.
That information was circulated about true Chamois drying tools many years ago. Since the Absorber seems to work in a very similar fashion, if it was true for the original Chamois, it might be true for the Absorber. :dunno:
I have never felt that either the Absorber or a Chamois affected my LSP in a negative way, but I never used them that much. The fact that I seem to think I need to add more LSP every 4 to 6 weeks might make it a moot point. :)

I use them at work but only for the cheap cars that I detail for the car lot. Otherwise I strictly use PB waffle weave and the Danase water devouerer. The Absorber is great for when you are not concerned with marring. I agree it does stick to the paint too much.

I used to use the absorber. Great product, absorbs large amount of water, and it's easy to wing dry. However, like many others, I was concern about marring the paint. These absorber really have some gripping power! Anyway, I've move on to a WW. It doesn't absorb water as well as the absorber, but I feel more comfortable with it being not as likely to damage the paint.

Held plenty of H2O. Did the job well.Didn't like the way it grabbed. Gave mine to the neighbor's boy.:passout:

I like them. I tend to use it to get the heavier beading water off of sunroofs, windshield/glass and bumpers (if chrome) and then use a big thick MF drying towel to complete drying. (Griot's large drying towels are my current favorite - love the pockets on the corners ;) )

I use one to blot water off/out of my canvass soft top on the SL. The Absorber is exceptional for this.

I bought one a few years ago but did not like the way it.drags and the damage it can cause so I stopped using it.
They must not sell very well because they give them away as a door prize at the car show and I have three that have never been opened.

The MF towels do not hold as much water but I have a lot of the very large WW and when one gets wet I hang it on a drying line that I have in my garage and use a dry one..

I also have a water blade that I don't use other than wiping the tonneau cover off on my pickup.
