Super Shine Power Shine (liquid Wax)

I just got to try out my sample of Super Shine Power Shine today. It is a wax.

Super Shine's Webpage: http://supershinedetail.com/

I just have to mention the smell of this stuff. When applying it to the car it reminded me of the smell in PepBoys. Did anyone else notice this?

This stuff is really thick but it goes on to the paint easily and it speads on the paint pretty easily. It is also pretty easy to put a thin coat down by hand. Some waxes it is difficult to do by hand but this was simple.

Now this is what I like about this wax. It comes off so easily! I don't know who has used Poorboy's Carnauba wax but this stuff comes off as easily as that stuff does.

The wax makes the paint very slick. The towels justed glided over the sections with wax on it.

It also produced a great shine on the car from what I could see. The sun was fading though so I couldn't get too good of a look at it. I'll see if I can get a better look tomorrow.

So far it seems like an excellent wax. I'll have to repost on the beading the next time I wash the vehicle and how long it is lasting.

It is my understanding that Power Shine is meant as a topper to either conventional or synthetic waxes...and that is straight from Rick Sullivan of Super Shine (BlkZ28 included a copy of the letter he received with the sample he sent me).

It seems to spread okay once you get past the intial glob it tended to lay on the paint (I was using a foam applicator) and it seems to make the pad feel 'gummy' like it was dragging a bit across the paint. Removal was a snap though, just wiped off with no effort whether it hazed or was still semi-moist.

The shine looked real good-but then again, I waxed my car with S100 about a week ago and QDed it twice this week with Quikshine (lots of wind and dust this past week), so my paint was already looking real nice. It was also quickly closing in on dusk, so maybe I will notice a bit more in the morning.

One thing for sure, it leaves the paint ultra slick-at least as slick as S100.

Is Power Shine worth it? Maybe as a topper to Zainos or Klasse, but as a topper for S100? Eh...S100 and PS both come off real easily, but S100 goes on easier and since you have to go through the same motions for either one, it really doesn't make a whole lot of sense to use PS in that case. Maybe after I try it on a few more vehicles and can see if there is a real difference in shine I may change my mind though.

Interesting... if you could reapply Zaino after Power Shine...just a thought at loud:nixweiss

You'll have to do a wash with Dawn to remove the power shine though.

Scottwax, I actually think Power Shines wipes of easier than P21S/S100

 Huh? Both wiped off with ease. I can't tell a difference. The stuff looks very nice on my paint, but with the ease of use you get with S100 and the fact that Power Shine takes at least the same time to put on and take off as S100, I just don't see the point of using it as a topper. Might as well just put on another coat of S100.

Power Shine is real slick and shiny, and seems like it would be great to top Klasse or Zainos, but not a carnuba. Just my humble opinion. :nixweiss

I don't believe he said it was a topper for a carnauba. All the things I've read said PS is good for topping zanio or Klasse.

Power Shine I can easily apply with an orbital buffer. That would make it a lot faster to apply than P21S, which you do by hand.

The letter I got from BlkZ28 with the Power Shine and Metal Madness said, according to the representative of the company said that Power Shine is a good topper for Zainos, Klasse and S100. If you like, I can scan it and forward it to you-it has a lot of good information.

Seriously? I can apply S100 by hand to most cars in 10 minutes-apply and remove. dboat can attest to how fast I can wax a car. I waxed his entire Mustang GT faster than he could wax the final 1/3rd of his truck. In fact, I was already cleaning the windows when he finished.

Again, please understand, I am not knocking Power Shine. It has a nice shine and leaves the paint very slick, I just think it is a little redundant to use as a topper on carnuba waxes, that's all. ;)

Guess always polishing cars by hand makes you that fast :)

I'll have to time myself to see how fast I can do a car with P21S. This weekend it took me 1 1/2 hours to do my basic packages and wax an explorer with the powershine applying it by hand.

I also agree that a carnauba ontop of a carnauba is a little redundant.

Intel-the deal with S100 is that you can apply it to a section, immediately buff off then move to the next section. You only go around the car one time.

I am interested in seeing how Power Shine beads up and I am going to try it on a few of my customers cars too.

I am also interested in the beading of PS.

I also tried Cherry Wet Wax today. Didn't seem to do anymore of a shine than Power Shine but I applied it right over a section w/ power shine on it. I will say Cherry Wet Wax buffed off easily. I also don't know why people like the Cherry smell. It does smell like cherrys but it is a horrible smell. Smells like medicine.

I CANNOT *STAND* the smell/taste of cherries. I'm sure it's for the same reason as you, because it reminds you of taking medicine as a kid and it being profusely grotesque.

Aside from being a kid and taking cherry flavored medicine, one time I tried Cherry Skol chew, and it really hadn't clicked with me when I was drinking my soda that I was downing the "spit" too, I got super duper ill about 5 minutes later and yacked it all up. .. Ugh I shudder every time I see cherries at the store.

I love eating real cherries and I like their smell. I don't mind Pro's Cherry Suds because it actually smells like Cherries!

Cherry Wet Wax has that sickly medicine smell to it!

At least power shine smells like PepBoys :D

That's fast. :bow When time is money, you don't miss a beat. I waxed my car this afternoon in about 20 minutes using Liquid Souverän, and I thought that wasn't bad.

intel doesnt powershine have cleaners in it would it not remove the bottom coat of a sealant like zanio,or the others mentioned?

This incredible blend of cleaners, polishes, acrylic polymers and carnauba wax will give you the quickest, deepest, wettest, longest lasting high gloss show car finish ever! I know it's hard to believe, but Power Shine performs all of the following functions brilliantly:

Gee, are you really going to make me admit to this?

Thanks

I talked to them about this and said cleaners is missleading. I deleted his PM about how it works. Maybe he'll come on this thread and explains.

He said it won't remove what you apply it on.

If it does have cleaners in it though, then it would also be removing the layer of S100. They are the ones who keep talking about how it can be layered though.

The info at the website is going to be up-dated. I have been corresponding with Mr Sullivan over the last few weeks. So not to be confused about other products at the site please read a response about some confusion with one of the products. The description for Metal Madness is accurate.

Edwin,

Again, thanks for trying our products. You are right about the web page and

it does sound a bit confusing. Originally, the Power Shine was going to be

called "Extreme Gloss Glaze and Polish" but our graphic artist shortened it

so it would fit on the bottle. We are currently revising the web description

to more accurately describe this products function. It does perform cleaning

functions as well, but not in the tradtional sense. Usually, cleaners perform

almost as a wax or polymer "stripper", cleaning everything off right down to

the paint. Power Shine however can clean polymers and carnaubas without

stripping them. A good example of this is on a white car which has Zaino or

carnauba sometimes you can see dirt imbedded in the protectant and you might

have to start over to correct it. But Power Shine can clean it without

stripping it and having to start over. The reason we know this works is we

were getting super tight water beads on a white Zaino'd car. We used Power

Shine over the Zaino and the beads became normal but about a month later

after the Power Shine wore off, the beads returned to being super tight

again, so we know the Zaino is still on there. We subsequently tested it on

other products and the results were the same. It_ emulsified any dirt while

enhancing the shine without any degradation to the protection of what ever

system we were using.

I hope this helps. If after about a week the tire dressing looks dull, just

buff it out with a dry towel and the shine should come back.

Thanks, Rick

Heh heh, just wanted to let Intel know I wasn't bs-ing and I know you can back me up!

BTW, I'll be e-mailing you the pics I took yesterday.

Well, you know... a Lightning is a bigger than a mustang... :D

How fast can you wash a vehicle in? Do you alway use the QEW or soap and hose?
