Hi everyone I was wondering what is your picks on the strongest and most quiet wet dry vac. I want a unit with the highest "water lift" possible while keeping the noise factor in cosideration. Thank you for any input you might have.

I believe the ridgid vac at home depot that is shaped like a tool box has some new thing that makes it less noisy than the others. If you go to the home depot website and read the reviews, some even mentioned that it is quieter than the others.

For what it's worth I just picked up the 4 gallon ridgid with 5 peak HP and the suction is fantastic.

I own that tool box looking rigid vacuum from home depot... for the size it is unbelievable.. the suction power is awesome... is it the quietest "who knows"

but it don't scream like my craftsman shop vac.....highly recommended from me...:)

Shop Vac makes a QUIET series. I've got one of those. It's still quiet after 6 - 7 years of use, somewhat superior to the competition. Suction is excellent, I've equipped it with the Griot's super-dee-dooper long hose (and attachments). People travel from near and far to use it...that's how popular it it ;)

Mine came from Ace Hdwe...probably $70 - $80.

Just picked one up a few weeks ago and the quietest one that I could try out was a Ridgid WD4070..

Suction is great for a little vac.

Thank you everyone for the feedback...! I should of mentioned that I also need something that wont tip over on mobile detailing situations where I might be working on loose gravel or rock pavement driveways. Thanks

Get one from a jan-san distributer. The ones you buy from a retail store are junk in comparison.Expect to pay $400 for a good commercial wet-dry vac. Most of em use a lamb motor which is the most powerful/quietest out there.
